Sleep paralysis and then OBE

Hi, wanted to post this and see if anyone has had similar experiences. On a few occasions, 4 times now, when I experience sleep paralysis and feel the presence of someone or something I experience what feels like OBE floating in my room and instinctually I yell and seem like fighting what ever is there, but no sound. It is very clear and after some time of this I am back in my body's and am able to move around again and sleep normally. Wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this or know what this could be.

Thank you.

Hi jtuck, What you describe sounds totally 'normal' for the early stages of an out-of-body experience. It can all feel mighty strange when it first starts to happen to you. But congratulations on taking the first steps to recognising yourself as a multi-dimensional Being -in very practical terms!

Sleep paralysis doesn't always have to be experienced during an OBE. I have had lots of OBEs but only experienced sleep paralysis once. My own personal theory is that can feel like a 'sticking point' when the thoughts are not fully committed to out-of-body consciousness. When there is still some tight identification with the physical and one is kind of stuck between two dimensions so to speak. It can be a bit scary to feel powerless like that.
The remedy, I think, is to commit to the out of body experience and detach from all identification with the physical, and then the whole thing will be smoother.

Hearing odd sounds, feeling unusual presences...etc is also very common when leaving the body. It's better to keep your own mental space quite firmly and have a goal to focus on, then you are less likely to be upset by these odd things.
But at the same time, it is true that the denser Astral world (nearest to Earth) is highly populated, so you can encounter all sorts here. But a strong mental/emotional focus can help to eliminate some of the Astral influences.

All things actually inhabit the same space.... but think of it like a radio set. If you have a tuning to one particular station, then you are not going to pick up other stations because you are on an entirely different wavelength or frequency. It is VERY much like that when in the next dimension(s). Focus and attunement go a long way to by-passing many influences which are distracting.

It has been known for a long time. It's probably not linked to astral projection, just a phenomenon preventing you from acting out what you dream of.
But you are lucid when it happens instead of sleeping. Happens to people who practice deep relaxation.

Of course when you are in sleep paralysis you may also be in a good state to project.

But may be in a good state for hallucinations too.

Robert Monroe talked about it a lot in his book Journeys Out of the Body.

Don't panic but try not to take everything as real just because it's experienced.....:)

This sounds pretty normal to me bar the fighting. You may possibly need to clear the energies around you before exiting or master what is there.
