Why can't i hypnotise myself?
 

The title says it all. I have hypnotised people, and even taken them into their past lives. But why can't i do it to myself? And i even wonder if others can do it on me.
Help?

Perhaps you cannot relax when you try to hypnotise yourself. Perhaps you do not believe you can do it. I would suggest keep practicing every day until you succeed. Keep telling yourself you can do it. Try not to put pressure on yourself as it may make it worse. If you do not succeed, keep telling yourself you are getting closer and next time you will succeed.

Have you tried recording your own voice and playing it back to yourself?

Perhaps your skills are just more active than they are receptive, and receptivity is a learned skill for you. Some other people are naturally receptive-- they might not be able to guide others through meditations because they get hypnotized by themselves-- and active skills are the learned skills.

I havent been through any hypnotism classes as such. I happened to read a book in which there were many methods on how to hypnotise. So i just tried. When it was successful on the first trial on my friend, i took her to her past life. I still wonder how i did that. I was 18 years then. I am 20 now.

Try playing a recording of yourself giving the hypnotic suggestions over and over while you are sleeping. Sleeping is a trance state that opens you more powerfully to suggestions. While I've never tried this myself this way, I do find that when I am focused on something and "go to sleep on it" usually by the third night or so I wake up inspired and often with powerful intuitive insights.
