Should we even be spiritual while incarnated in the physis? And why do we incarnate?

We are souls that deliberately incarnated on this planet to make experiences that are possible only in the physis. Does it even make sense to lead a spiritual life, focus on spiritual themes, and practice spiritual techniques like meditation, when we, as souls, incarnated in the physis with the intention to experience the physis? Shouldn’t we rather be focused on material things?

Aren’t these spiritual activities things that we could do when we are dead and in the beyond? I mean, for what reason did we incarnate in the physis when we then orient ourselves back toward the non-physis were we actually came from?

Since we can be spiritual when we are in the beyond, wouldn’t it be much more plausible to utilize the material life for material experiences? Shouldn’t we here on earth focus on consumerism, worldly pleasure, ego, individualism, and occupational success - or why do we even incarnate?

How do you know this was your intention..?

Good questions overall. I do not know why we incarnate. I haven't found an answer that makes sense, most explanations mention 'past lives' but then most people don't have past life memories. It also doesn't explain why we'd have to endure the same sort of experiences over and over again, or learn to walk, talk, and do other chores over and over again. If we're on a cycle then it's a pretty meaningless cycle. It's what you make of it, probably, so if you want to enjoy yourself and don't chase spirituality than I don't see the issue.

Hi,

If our intent is to integrate the physical with the spiritual then neither can be ignored.

Deliberately incarnate, are you sure? Because I've been having doubts. If so, then I think we should try and live in harmony with the planet. Not trash and over consume. Doesn't make sense to destroy it.

If we are here to learn and develop then of course meditation and the likes all helps with being and living from hopefully a more positive and productive place. To spend vast amounts of time doing this or talking about doing it, then that takes us away from the ground work. After all that's what we're here for supposedly.

I might suggest that we may instantly know intuitively what is the purpose of incarnation and just get on with it, rather than making that purpose a virtual or in some cases de facto lifetime of tortured doubt, uncertainty, confusion, rationalization, and frustration, as we see frequently in posts of many who frequent spiritual discussion sites!

The purpose of life is the evolution of consciousness. That is the purpose and opportunity as set out by the Transcendental Will in projecting ITSELF into and AS the cosmic physical of which we are inseparably, inalienably, and unavoidably part and parcel of THAT One Being. It's done and here we are. Now what?

Believe that, or spend your life in endless intellectual machinations, doubting, denying, and avoiding it. Nevertheless, that would be inevitably and ultimately the same process of evolution in effect anyway, although through different means (our choice), but in the latter case, with emphasis on preserving ignorance and inconscience through that doubt, etc., and therefore infinitely more arduous accordingly.

The sad irony is that the positive approach - of which there are numerous exemplars, teachers, teachings readily available as facilitation - yields almost immediately demonstrable results that are instant confirmation of progression and satisfaction, whereas the negative approach of doubt and incessant intellectual invalidation of spirituality as an expedient is the self-perpetuation of stasis and frustration.

Think about it.

We all seek happiness. Many people look for happiness in consumerism, worldly pleasure, ego activities, material success, etc. Do they find the happiness they seek? No. Whatever satisfaction and fulfilment is found in these activities is temporary. The material world is limited so any happiness based on the material world is also limited.

This is why people eventually look within and embark on the spiritual journey. We realise that the material world will never give us what we want. We can enjoy the material world and all that is has to offer, but we do not look to the material world for deeper fulfilment.

The Soul or consciousness seeks self-expression. Incarnating in physical form is a challenge because the physical form is so limited. The spiritual life is the process of identifying with consciousness so that consciousness can express itself through the physical body via the personality. When we become a clear expression of Soul purpose then we find true peace, fulfilment and contentment. All the things which the material world failed to provide.

Peace.

Disagree. Sounds like rubbish to me. There are many moments in our life, all fleeting, all temporary, and yet good memories are kept. Many activities make people happy, as do the people in our lives. Many of them are temporary, yes, but to suggest that people cannot find happiness and would only able to find it in something eternal is rather fundamentalist. What's still stopping you from living in a monastery and eschew the world? Yours is a very sober and depressing world view.

I think everyone can speak for themselves.

Micheal Newton Ph.D.'s books, Journey of Souls (see https://www.wicca-spirituality.com/j...-of-souls.html) and Destiny of Souls (see https://thealtreview.wordpress.com/2...iny-of-souls/), both of which include many hypnotic-regression transcripts of subjects' 'between-life' experiences and related commentary, provide truly meaningful answers in this regard.

Altair, forget about spiritual or eternal it's just something other, something else, something deeper, no? Why have we ended up on SF.
