fav love themed movies

The spectrum is wide.
It's not just love story movies.
It can include movies that are not love stories but have a scene of love or a minor sub plot that has impacted you.
Also not only romantic type love between two people like in love story movies,
but the broad spectrum of love one can express and feel from various relationships.

Oh and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, most notably the Aragorn/Arwen/Eowyn love triangle but also the brotherly love between Legolas and Gimli.

Oh how could i forget Lord of the Rings trilogy..and Mr.Holland's Opus.

Apart from An officer and a gentleman, which i saw way long before i was into love, i have not seen any of the movies you mentioned Sarian,
though I have heard a synopsis of terms of Endearment and it's on my to watch list.
I'll also keep an eye out for the others you and hwkmoth have shared.

Aside from ones already listed, Tequila Sunrise has much love (platonic and otherwise) going on...

Solace733 09-04-2012 03:38 PM

The Notebook. (for the passion, the connection, the beautiful ending, the love.)
All the above mentioned are good ones too! (i love Braveheart, Titanic, The Family Man, LOTR, etc.)
and Dirty Dancing! (nobody puts baby in the corner!)
and Ghost! (ok i will stop hitting edit to add more) ;)

Good topic ,,, a few more

While many blasted "The English Patient" I was very moved by the tragic love theme.

Also "Betty Blue" is another one, a very poignant powerful story. (French)

"Spotless Mind" is another of my very favorite,( as well) .... very unique-funny-poignant
Just watched another Kaufman movie (John Malkovitz) (was better the 1st time)

Most major American films REQUIRE a love theme, love interest .(just to get financed-made)

For Me it'd be closer to 60% I suspect. I hesitate to see any film without a significant female role.

ALSO Solaris ...... both versions ..... absolutely

"The Way We Were" - not a Streisand fan but really identify with her character in this role and she is so believable in her love for him.
