The Left Hand Path
 

I have been gone for a while. Had to do a lot of Soul searching and finding my path.
I have discovered that my path is now that of the Left Hand Path, working with the Goetia, performing baneful magick. Are there any other followers of the Left Hand Path? What are your experiences?

Do you mean the 'left wing' path? As in Socialism, Liberalism etc.?

No. I mean the Left Hand Path. As opposed to the Right Hand Path, where magick is all about love and light. The Left Hand Path focuses on the Shadow and working with Shadow. You evoke the Goetic Demons and work with them to help you achieve what you desire. I work with a Demon called King Paimon.

Don't work with demons. You know they're bad news. You'll be used and drained of all your humanity, and you will be taught to use and drain others as well. Why would you want to do that?

Working with any kind of dark Entity is not beneficial to yourself or anyone else

Well, Tantra is usually considered a Left-Hand path and that is the one I follow.

The truth is that a lot of Goetic Demons are actually just maligned, formerly respected pagan gods, such as Baal. I think the scare tactics around the topic, mostly perpetuated by Hollywood these days are way over the top. Most of it is fuelled by a latent Judeo-Christian fear of the "other", any god, deity or spirit that isn't their own. I would be glad to hear about your journey and how you're getting on. Demons are a different species of entities, and just like any species you have good guys and a-holes.

Humans have a fully physical part and a fully spiritual part that are interlinked. Demons are a different class of entities that exist as a mixture of physical and spiritual. According to the lore of many cultures, demons existed long before animals and humans and then resented humans when we came to be (general jealousy or because we trespassed on their territory).

Demons are not all bad, but the vast majority dislike humans and want to use us to drain our energy - in whatever alignment they digest. Even the "good" demons will always drain a bit of your energy as they "help" you. But on top of that, you can't trust demons even if they claim to be on your side. Demons are capable of lies and deceit and are very talented at it.

Fortunately most people who are attracted to the Left Hand Path are actually ineffectual magicians who are just drawn to the glamour of sex and material gain. There are a few who have genuine power, but not many who profess to follow the Left Hand Path have the discipline to succeed. And such success is of dubious value.
