Almond Milk

I was watching the television the other day when up popped an ad by Alpro, promoting their latest product - almond milk!

I better not put the link up as it's a commercial venture, but you can Google it.

It's vegan and fortified with B-12 and D2.

Almonds are very nutritious, so its arrival on the scene is something to be welcomed. I look forward to seeing it on the shelves of my local supermarket.

Anyone tried it yet?

I have tried almond milk before and was not particularly fond of the taste. Others I know rave about it as being a great alternative to milk.

I do enjoy Rice Milk and find that a great alternative to milk.

You can probably find almond milk in a health food shop. If you live in the USA you can pick it up from Wholefoods.

There are probably recipes on the internet to make your own almond milk.

As far as I know this is the first commercial almond milk in the UK. I'm looking forward to trying it. Soya milk is pleasant enough, but a bit of variety is always nice.
Funny you should say that, I tried rice milk last year for the first time and considering rice is such a nutritious food, I found the milk very weak. Was beaten on all counts by soya milk. The rice milk was expensive too, so not been back for more!

KoA - try Neals Yard in Covent Garden [they do mail order]. They stock Clearspring products including Almond Butter [just dilute it for milk], cashew butter [fab !], etc. Worth a look-see :D

Somewhere here a while back (I forget their name) showed me how to make my own almond milk.
It's pretty easy to do and you can add what you want to it. I added appricots and hemp seeds and whey to make a healthy protein drink out of.
I'm sure there are plenty of recipes on the internet....or you can buy it.

Cool............adding a bananna also gives it a nice consistency as well.
