Who else is sleepless?

Anyone else out there who should be sleeping but isn't. What's keeping you up? A lot of thoughts with no place to go? Let them out here and sleep well. :hug3:

This is a lovely idea Hallow....

An overactive imagination keeps me awake alot of the time... Always connecting seemingly random information. I know some people who can fall asleep as soon as their head hits the pillow. My mind wanders with curiousity.

Random thoughts and ideas... Such as wondering why the native turkey population has boomed so well these last few years? Is it the rain? Everything was so dry in January, then it rained and now it seems like the turkeys are overtaking the humans in the area. Apparently their numbers are declining and their abundance is often determined by the goodwill of householders... This may mean that soon the humans on this property will not be able to be easily spotted through all the turkeys. Visitors will have to wade through acres of turkeys to find the humans!

The rainforest is thriving and returning here.... Thanks to the help of the bush turkey.

sometimes ones thoughts have to go somewhere. Even if there pointless. My brain wanders all night long. I have to be up at night when the rest of the world sleeps. But there's nothing like the silence and Stars of 3am. There's a special peace in the darkness. A special connection to the Earth during the 5 min of twilight 2xs a day. During those times you can feel the Earth going into it's daily peaceful slumber also you can feel it waking up and taking stretch getting ready for the busy day ahead.

That is the one... they are very friendly birds amongst us mortals, always eager to come inside for dinner.

In the local language they are called "wogon" or "wogan", I am uncertain of the correct spelling. It is an onomatepia word which means that it is named after the sound it makes. A sound which I have rarely heard if I am honest... They are not overly vocal creatures.

I am fairly certain that "kookaburra" is also an onomatepia word as well....kind of a fun sound to impersonate in a laughing tone. I love our Aussie birds hahaha.

Lol... Very fitting indeed. Those turkeys go bananas for bananas.

We had a banana plantation here and we had to learn to outsmart such creatures to ensure we could harvest a steady supply of the herb/fruit. I am never sure if the humans win or if the animals win! I am pretty certain that turkey intelligence trumps human intelligence most of the time.

I respect the turkeys though, without them, no rainforest, without the rainforest, no life :D

I am so glad that we have mosquitos and yet no malaria or ross river fever! Yay.... Winning! Inspite of the lack of mosquito born diseases though... They still manage to keep me awake at night with their high pitched squealing and insatiable desires for my blood.
