Something tiny...
 

I recently got a lovebird (known for it's fierce connection with whomever (bird or human) it bonds with). My other birds don't like me; they've bonded to each other, and I've just felt unwanted (by birds? Not that important an issue, yes, but it was getting me down).

The lovebird was obtained 3 days ago and just today was I able to briefly get him on my finger and he hung out on my chest/shoulders/in my hair for a good 2 minutes.

I just feel so accomplished right now. It takes a lot of patience and trust for a bird to bond with its owner, and I've always been an impatient person. So this is really hard for me, but that little moment today when I could snuggle the bird made me really glad. I want more of that, but if I rush it, I'll lose a few steps. It's so hard to be patient for love, even from a bird.
