Is there an origin and purpose of sickness?

Is there an origin and purpose of sickness? Or are they 'accidents'?

Do you have something particular in mind? A specific kind of sickness?

For example ... Bad eyesight, like myopia and presbyopia, comes mostly from our brains learning to misuse our vision apparatus, due to bad viewing habits, and is generally reversible through re-learning to see, and unlearning the misuse of our vision apparatus.

If you're asking about karma, or other such origins, then be specific.

What is your opinion?

Most of the illness and disease is caused by the lymphatic system (the immune system may be more familiar but that's just part of it) being unable to function properly, because it is the waste management system. So most sickness is caused by acid buildup and toxicity, which most toxicity is acidic by definition. Acid erodes and destroys, rots, etc.. and then microbes, parasites, bacteria, worms, etc. come to try to clean up this acidic toxic mess and then we blame them for causing the problems, which of course they are responsible for adding more issues, but their primary purpose is actually not a malevolent one.. but they create their own waste which is toxic and they breed and overtake the body and the natural microbes that benefit and protect us, etc... We can't just kill the messengers though, we have to clean up the acidic toxic waste mess they were beckoned by and then they won't have a reason to infest us. Excessive alkalinity can be an issue too, but it's much more rare than acidosis. Raw living foods are alkaline and cooked or processed dead foods are acidifying, generally speaking. Hydration from food is important and the ideal food (which mentioning might ruffle some feathers but whatever it is the truth if one investigates and considers it fully) is fruit for a number of reasons, and its astringent properties harmonize the lymphatic system the best.

Of course there are other factors, which inavalan brings up some good points, and the topic of bad habits is definitely primary to consider in all sorts of ways.. the way we use our bodies physically, not just what we put into or onto them, has an impact. It is all about honoring the natural order and functioning as we are designed to. Our bodies are supposed to move certain ways, our minds and spirits need stimulation and exploration and expression, and so on. All sorts of ways and things we naturally do can be extremely healing.. but still to deal with the toxicity that is inevitable we need our bodies to function optimally and it begins and ends with the lymphatic system which is integral to the operation of other organs and the brain and everything.. Once we have the basics of proper detoxification down, there are so many marvelous ways to heal and use ourselves and the world around us to further heal and regenerate or revitalize. That is what we are here for anyway I think. Almost everything we'd normally want to do has a potential healing factor.

Aside from that, other than teaching us to be more mindful of the body and being and how they were designed to exist, of course periods of sickness can just teach us to relax and slow down and be taken care of.

Taking A Break...I am at the belief,that all illnesses derive from the unguided mind and unresolved emotional blocks that impede flow,courtesy of the ego.

Origin:=Karma/Destiny

Purpose:=Diminish ego.

This can be answered in two ways...

For any disease we may get or want to know more about you can find out more by reading information about it, in books or in scientific articles, or you may consult your doctor or a health specialist.

Then we may also ask why does it exist and why does God allow it? and this is a religious question, some people think it's God's wrath, or the work of the devil, or that it's a 'soul contract', or also common, that it's due to individual karma.

What it shows to me though is that 'God' does not really care and is in fact a-moral. God is 'stable', whereas morality is a consequence of recognizing change. People die consciously in the most brutal and terrible ways. Humans are moral beings, they observe and they change perceptions. 'God' does not and cannot care. It's up to us to make the best of the situation and improve human health. If human intelligence can eradicate a virus or heal sickness where does that leave ''karma'' or ''It's God's wrath''...?

I've read that sickness is how our body tells us we are doing something wrong. And that would include sicknesses like cancer or heart disease or diabetes....in fact I also read one doctor say that there's no such thing as a genetic bias towards disease so much as it's a generational bias to eat food (or do things like where we work - in a coal mine for example) that creates an environment where our body is telling us we're eating the wrong stuff or working in a bad place....

This. Most signals are beneath our awareness and are basically ignored.
