How are you so sure there is no such thing as re-incarnation? There have been many formal scientific studies indicating as such with Ian Stevenson's work being the most respected and notable. Even the bible indicates as such with John the Baptist being the re-incarnation of Elijah When Jesus took Peter, James and John to a high mountain where he transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Moses and Elijah also appeared and talked with Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, the disciples asked Jesus, "The disciples asked him, 'Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?' "Jesus replied, 'To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.' "Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist." And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.Luke 1:16,17 ESV He didn't say John would be Elijah but that he would possess the same spirit and power that Elijah had, and in this way he fulfilled the prophecy that Elijah would come again. The Bible teaches that all will be resurrected. That means that all of our bodies will be restored to life. Resurrection and reincarnation cannot both be true because if reincarnation were true each of us would have lived in more than one body. Jesus existed before his incarnation but he didn't have a flesh and blood body so his incarnation didn't present any problems. |
[quote=theophilus]Elijah could not have been reincarnated because he never died. Look at what Gabriel said about John.

We have all lived in different bodies repeatedly (Spirit) there is no space on the earth for all the bodies if we are reincarnated  Where will they all fit???? . |

Back in the 1970,s--every mortal that ever lived could have 1 acre in texas---look at all the room that is left. No such thing as reincarnation. A ressurection is coming--nothing else. |

Well, for one Sky, John in Revelation succinctly states that while seeing the future in the vision, he looked, and he saw no sea. Revelation 21:1 But think about it. You said, "if we HAVE all lived"... But, if time is illusory, aren't all the manifestations all concurrent, (apart from time), like spokes around the hub of a wheel? The "hub" being the true personage, and entity? |
If there is reincarnation, there would have been no point for jesus to even come to earth, and say and do what he said.
