Are there fully enlightened buddhist teachers alive ?
Do you know if there are such teachers now ?

I'd just say that anyone can be a "teacher". There is a sad sense of potential judgement involved in any decision about anyone being "enlightened", in looking for them, even in wondering if anyone is out there! As we wonder, the next moment will pass us by, with all its potential.

Is the Dalai Lama enlightened? I’m not sure.

Sky #7. Yeah I guess that would make sense. Thanks.

I would say no because I think to be enlightened we stop being a person and if you are not a person no one is there to be enlightened.

There are different understandings of spiritual enlightenment so depends who and what experience answers.
Being ‘one with your whole self’ as I see this, means it’s a constant, not one thing, it’s everything. So it means we each build understanding through the totality of our being, integrate as a constant. many understand their true nature, live by that, but the constant changing nature of our experience means it’s an ever deepening experience. An ever deepening understanding. In this view I’m not convinced this term fits a boxed in idea. |
