Happy Maha Shiva Ratri

Namaste.

It was last night in my part of the world, tonight in other parts...it is also the start of the Chinese New Year celebrations which culminate on the 16th February, leading into The Year of the Dog - very fitting for those who worship Bhairav (like yours truly).

I didn't do much last night for Shiva Ratri, because every single day and night, I am in worship of Lord Shiva and it's 'Shiva Ratri' for me. I am just so humbled that the One the Vedas speak of is my own close and personal Friend...I spent last night just reciting the Purusha Shuktam and the Sri Rudram (both Namakam and Chamakam).

I didn't take any 'illicit substance' because I am beyond all 'excuses' to do so and I'm like "Shiva also drank poison...let them all drink poison TOO before going on about how Shiva smoked Charas and so He condoned this".

So, I celebrated Shiva Ratri the full Vedic way, with Homa and all and I was basically in bed fast asleep by 10pm - not much 'celebrating' on my account - but I pray that people remember Shiv Bhagavan more than once a year...but once a year is better than at no time whatsoever.

May the Grace and blessings of Mahadeva be with you and your loved ones this Maha Shiva Ratri.
