More about the zodiac
 

Are there any ancient texts or codexes known of that describe the zodiac in a more original context? Where does the zodiac originate from?

I know that is probably not the answer you want to hear, but it is my belief that you will find the truth quicker if you seek it out yourself. You will find what you are meant to find. :)

You are right. That is not the answer I am looking for. I just figured there may be some people on this forum well educated on the subject that could guide me in the right direction.

I could look online, but online it is difficult to figure what is true and what is not and everyone seems to have their own theory on what is what.

I figure some people interested in astrology might have some actual knowledge of it's history.

Google is a resourceful tool. I believe this forum could be too.

An astrologer that looks at many charts and has experience will be able to tell better without any personal biases or judgments. Experience knows best.
Sometimes in some readings the zodiac might not even come into focus. Most natal chart readings I have done, I never focused on the zodiac but sometimes the whole chart of a person can well fit into their zodiac traits if you chose to do a reading that way. If that makes sense. It's all about perspective.

Experience is often best teacher. You can however look at books by Steven Forrest.
