Dizziness and vertigo

I have suffered from vertigo attacks on and off for the past 10 years. I'm not sure what triggers it, but I've had about three episodes where the dizziness lasts a month. I'm over three weeks in to one of those spells at the moment. I'm a big believer that physical ailments manifest from an underlying emotional cause and have been on a slow and steady path of self healing through reiki over the past three years. I look to alternative treatments because conventional medicine has done nothing to alleviate or properly diagnose what is causing this dizziness. They've said its inner ear issues. Mri shows nothing and I was given pills to treat the dizzy symptom itself and was given muscle relaxers at one point in time...all which make me zombie-like, which is no way to live.

These three bad episodes including this one seem to happen when I'm on the brink of change, if I could see a pattern here. To try to alleviate the dizziness I have seen a chiropractor and recently tried 5 sessions of acupuncture only to feel worse after that fifth session. I'm tired of spending money on visits when they can't educate me as a patient as to what is going on with my body.

Here's a bit of a background:
This most recent episode of dizziness followed a migraine for 3 days, and has left my head spinning for almost a full month now. I can't be sure what triggered it, but it seemed to start after some new Clair abilities started opening up (random channeled messages, visions, precognition and communication with spirits without even trying too hard this stuff all came about). The month long episode before this one came after my very first reiki session and also left me dizzy for a month.

Physically, I have tight neck and shoulders, adrenal fatigue made worse after spending too much time with people, ears popping, tones in the ears occasionally, sharp migraines in the right side of my head only, and occasionally heart palpitations...not sure if physical symptoms cause anxiety or anxiety is causing physical symptoms, or if I'm just super sensitive to my environment. All I know is that I'm tired of being a hermit and afraid to even go to the grocery store.

I've tried like heck to meditate on this and reiki it all but I'm still left with a big question mark. If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it! And please, no responses like "drink more water"...I do drink an adequate amount.

I am guessing you saw a neurologist, Lucky? And that's when you had the MRI which showed nothing.
I don't know for sure, but am guessing -that inner ear problems may not show on an MRI, but that doesn't make them less "neurological" possibly or less troublesome. Being fobbed off with symptom-relievers is frustrating when you want to find out what it actually is!

It is possible the cause is some nerve mis-firing in communication between inner ear and brain. I would think a good neurologist would be able to work that one out if he/she thought it might be the case. I would urge you to go one more time to some good specialist (maybe not the same one you went to before). It would be worth the hassle perhaps. A true physical cause must be ruled out.

Oh and get eyes checked thoroughly too. It is possible to feel quite motion-sick/dizzy when vision isn't at its best or even wearing the wrong pair of glasses! (or an old prescription.)

Psychologically and energetically, dizziness can be caused by being pulled in different directions, and being unable to keep up with the sudden changes so a disorientation occurs and a confusion about your place in "space" so to speak. Maybe some tendency to find decision-making hard? Or if not that, then being deeply unsure about your ability to make good decisions and follow them?

You sound exhausted from what you have said, and thus find too much stimulus (re: people) tiring. It could be that your energy lags behind a bit when these changes are happening. It is hard to jump into new circumstances because of energy not functioning at its best, so wavering can also cause dizziness.

Vitamin B is very good for energy management. But check that you are suitable for supplements. Some people with energy depletion do well on that. But some people (i.e. with Chronic Fatigue) can have odd reactions not always positive.

Acupuncture could be VERY helpful too.

But don't just listen to me twittering on.....

If you suffer from vertigo your doctor would put you on medication for it.i take Bethistamine for it I have had it for 13 years now and that was after I was in a car accident.
I had to have a decompression operation on my shoulder and now I cant move my neck to the left and that doesn't help it.

Lucky have you tried Tablets for Sea sickness /Travel Sickness, they work for me and I have no side-effects from them.

Has Migraine been ruled out? Mine are caused by Migraines, sometimes with a headache and other times without. Hope you get some relief because they are nasty.

I had very bad bouts of dizziness, so bad in fact that I had to lie on the floor no matter where I was. Naturally I visited countless doctors of all kinds right up to the point where the subject of ears and their treatment came to its climax and a hospital sojourn was being prepared. At this point I was lucky enough to hear of a doctor who was on the side of natural solutions and natural remedies.

Once a week she massaged the soles of my feet for one hour. She told me how she could feel the tension in some of my inner organs and her aim would be o get these organs into a relaxed state.Within two weeks it had done the trick. Altogether I went for 6 weeks and have never had a relapse.

Such treatment needs to be done by a genuine person who knows what he or she is doing - there are such people around.

Thank you all so much for these suggestions. An urgent care doctor did give me motion sickness pills but they made me a zombie. Going for full blood work tomorrow to try to further rule out some things. I do think I'll try reflexology Busby...that sounds great! Aww, thanks again for your replies!!

I have had one bout of vertigo a few years ago and it was not a pleasant experience. A natural remedy for vertigo is said to be licorice root (however if you're on blood pressure medication don't take it as it interacts). I hope your symptoms improve!
