A comprehensive list of Afterlife related books..

Ive bought quite a few over the past few months which I'll list here;

Please add anymore that you have read and would recommend:hug3:

Science & The Afterlife Experience - Chris Carter
Consciousness Beyond Life - Pim Van Lommel
The Last Frontier - Julia Assante
The Fun Of Dying -Roberta Grimes
The Afterlife Unveiled - Stafford Betty
Life After Death - Deepak Chopra
Adventures In The Afterlife - William Buhlman
Multidimensional Man - Jurgen Zwiewe
Answers About The Afterlife - Bob Olsen
Is There Life After Death - Anthony Peake
The Art Of Dying - Peter & Elizabeth Fenwick
A Lawyer Presents Evidence For The Afterlife - Victor Zammit
The Afterlife Revealed - Michael Tymn
Application Of Impossible Things - Natalie Sudman
Stop Worrying, There Probably Is An Afterlife - Greg Taylor

These aren't so specifically on the afterlife but deal with it as a side issue, explore consciousness out of the body etc
My Big TOE - Tom Campbell
The Sacred History Of The World - Jonathan Black
The Divine Matrix - Greg Braden
The Daemon/Labyrinth Of Time/Infinite Mindfield/Out Of Body Experience - all by Anthony Peake
Supernatural/The Divine Spark - Graham Hancock
Biocentrism - Robert Lanza
The Quest For Gnosis - Gabriel Roberts

Some are better than others, some conflict although there is generally more agreement apart from Peake's books which suggests our afterlife is a personally generated version of Eternal recurrence, living the same life over & over.

I've stayed well clear of the tv mediums; I just find them too fluffy especially as the likes of Colin Fry, Sylvia Brown, Derek Acorah, Doris Stokes etc have been outed as complete frauds. I'm still dubious about John Edwards and don't know enough about James Van Pragh. I guess as an agnostic, formerly atheist before reading some of these books, I do need some semblance of science to support an argument. The more that angels or traditional views of heaven are written about, the more I become sceptical.

Please add some more to my list that you know of and think I may find of value:smile:

The Two Worlds of Helen Duncan.
Teachings of Silver Birch.
Light from Silver Birch
With Spirit (Mavis Pattilla)

I've read 7 of the books on your list....

Another one to explore is 'Life In The World Unseen' (Anthony Borgia), whether true or not, it's still a very entertaining read and really stimulates the mind.....

There is A LOT of intriguing information found on the website for the Multidimensional Man... Really good write-ups there... Found the website to be a lot better than the book....

I really enjoyed the William Buhlman book (Adventures In The Afterlife) and there is a lot of excellent insights in Pim Van Lommel's NDE book....

Have fun Seeking/Exploring Metal68!

'Exploring the Eternal Soul - Insights from the Life Between Lives' by Andy Tomlinson.

'Journey of Souls' by Michael Newton.

An excellent book about the realities of the psyche -

'Soul-Centered Healing: A Psychologist's Extraordinary Journey Into the Realms of Sub-Personalities, Spirits, and Past Lives' by Thomas Joseph Zinser

Very interesting new video exploring the evidence for the survival of consciousness upon physical death -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5RpbveVC_4

Published on 20 Jun 2015

A documentary by Keith Parsons which offers scientific evidence for the afterlife. It covers cross correspondences, The Scole experiment, drop-in communicators, EVP, the mediumship of Mrs. Leonora Piper, as well as a discussion of brain and mind - are they both the same or different?

Interviews with Prof. David Fontana & Prof. Archie Roy, (both former presidents of the SPR); Victor Zammit - Former Australian attorney, proponent for evidence of the afterlife; Robin Foy - The Scole Group leader; Dr. Anabela Cardoso - EVP researcher and editor of the ITC Journal; Prof. Bruce Greyson of the University of Virginia; and Dr. Peter Fenwick - consultant neuro-physiologist.

'Is There an Afterlife?: A Comprehensive Overview of the Evidence' by David Fontana

The Afterlife Revealed: What Happens After We Die by Michael Tymn (2011)

Just remembered a very good book -

'Worlds Beyond Death' by Grant Pealer.

metal68 25-06-2015 05:00 PM

Ive just read the excellent Is There An Afterlife by David Fontana. Very, very good, lots of real science in there, one of the better explorations of mediumship that I have seen in this sort of book, An author that is not afraid to throw the stuff out that doesn't add up ( something that I wouldn't have said about Victor Zammit's book) And its over 400 pages long! If I had to buy only one book on the subject, this wouldn't be a bad choice

wolfgaze 25-06-2015 05:07 PM

While not 'afterlife' focused, Michael Talbot's 'The Holographic Universe' is thought-provoking and excellent read. Highly recommended....

metal68 25-06-2015 05:54 PM

Yes Ive got that one incoming from amazon, I do tend to go for books that aren't focused on the afterlife but skirt around it so to speak, dealing with consciousness, nature of reality etc. What I wont do is buy anything from Colin Fry, John Edwards etc. Just think of how Sylvia Brown was exposed as fraudulent. I can't help apply the same brush to all celebrity mediums. Not sure about James Van Praagh?? Seems to be slightly better endorsed?

The author of Holographic Universe died tragically young didn't he? I was a bit worried about the fact the book was written in 1996 until I found out that most of the weird quantum theory stuff was discovered way back in time.

I think it may have been written earlier than that... Like '91 or '92 maybe?

I had the same concerns as you but after I read it I was amazed at how 'ahead of its time' it was, and how surprisingly relevant it still is today... There are a few chapters towards the latter half of the book that are pure gold as far as 'seekers' are concerned Definitely one of my Top-5 favorite books that I've ever read. I hope you enjoy it - I'm sure you will.

Cheers! It should arrive tomorrow or saturday:smile:

Read it last week; its very interesting stuff.

Just about to start DMT The Spirit Molecule; I'm interested in this to see if it REALLY is a path to higher dimensions...or just a very heavy trip. Sure wouldn't mind trying it, apparently its the most banned chemical on earth!!

Try reading,

- Save by the Light
- Embraced by the light
- The Afterlife Experiments
- Journey of Souls- Case Studies of life between lives

This list looks very interesting. I've been away from SF for a while and thought I'd return by checking into one of the lighter forum topics! Thanks everyone for the fine suggestions. Might have to go book shopping soon!

metal68 15-07-2015 05:46 PM

A few more I have acquired/are incoming, either afterlife or related topics;

Handbook To The Afterlife - Pamela Rae Heath
Heaven and Hell Unveiled: Updates from the World of Spirit - Stafford Betty
The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe - Lynne Mctaggart
Ultimate Journey - Robert Monroe
Life Between Lives: Hypnotherapy for Spiritual Regression - Michael Newton
Life Beyond Death: What Should We Expect? - David Fontana
Journey Of Souls - Michael Newton
Destiny Of Souls - Michael Newton
Science & The Akashic Field - Ervin Lazlo

Entangled Minds - Dean Radin
Science & The Near Death Experience - Chris Carter
Science & Psychic Phenomena - Chris Carter
Evidence Of The Afterlife - Jeffrey Long
Glimpses Of Eternity - Raymond Moody
Wisdom Of Near Death Experiences - Penny Sartori
Death Makes Life Possible: Revolutionary Insights on Living, Dying, and the Continuation of Consciousness - Marilyn Schlitz
Randi's Prize: What Sceptics Say About the Paranormal, Why They Are Wrong, and Why It Matters Paperback – Robert McLuhan
Afterlife Unveiled - Teresa Cheung

So far the best out of all so far for me have been Julia Assante's Last Frontier, David Fontana's Is There An Afterlife (really excellent) & Michael Tymn's The Afterlife Revealed. Ive still got a lot to read though!!! Many of these I will go back to as well at different times.
Im a big fan of Anthony Peake although I don't buy all his ideas but he presents the physics side well.
I wasn't impressed much with Teresa Cheung's book as its a little lightweight.

Im intrigued by the Michael Newton books, they are maybe the most compelling BUT ..can you fabricate under hypnosis/how much has he implanted/how much were the subjects already preconditioned etc etc.

Here I am, 50 or 60 books on, a lot of dough spent, learnt a lot about double slits (!!!!!) and still none the wiser. Reincarnation is still hotly debated as is whether OBEs are just flights of fancy, and we have vastly conflicting depictions of an afterlife that seemal to resemble either a Vaughan Williams pastoral symphony made into a physical landscape..or a place of swirling energy and mulitcolored souls...

So really none the wiser!

metal68 19-07-2015 05:41 PM

Ive added two more to my library today

Your Eternal Self - Dr Craig Hogan
Quantum Physics, Near Death Experiences, Eternal Consciousness, Religion, and the Human Soul – William Joseph Bray (Im looking forward to this one as apparently its quite science based!)

Ive also ordered Life In The World Unseen if only as a curiousity :-)

I would echo those who have mentioned Is There An Afterlife by David Fontana. I couldn't put it down (in fact I've just started rereading it) and thanks to this book I found out about the amazing work of Anabela Cardoso.

Hi wolfgaze

Yes, she is an EVP researcher and has some recordings on her website. I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to post the link but if you Google her name her website comes up straight away

She communicates with a group called Rio do Tempo by recording radio white noise which the group use as a medium to contact her and tell her about the afterlife. She has also written a book but I haven't got round to reading it yet. Her work is described in David Fontana's book (he studied her work and was present during some of her recordings).

Quantum Physics, Near Death Experiences, Eternal Consciousness, Religion & The Human Soul by William Joseph Bray.

At 776 pages long, its one of the most challenging & profound books Ive yet come across. It gives Tom Campbell a serious run. Half of it is bloody equations that you would need a degree to understand but there is still enough there for a layman to work with IF you are prepared to wrestle with it.
Its possibly the holy grail of science related afterlife books, only neg is the author is a Christian so it comes from that perspective so as a non Christian I have some differing views. I would still recommend it even if its £15.00 from Amazon UK.

Go on!!! Be challenged!!

(apologies for the same post on 2 forums but I really want to flag this book up!)

All of these are available on Amazon UK; if you use the independent sellers options on there as well, you can get good deals. I still reckon Ive paid Jeff Bezo's bar tab for a weekend at least.

I hope someone finds this useful; I could have used it after my mum passed. I think Ive exhausted the material available out there now but I know many of these books I will return to many times (in many lives as well, I wonder?!!)
I can also loan them to friends who suffer bereavements and suggest there may be hope (I say may as Im still not wholly convinced). Ive just loaned the Zammit book to a friend who at 79 has obviously got the great questions on his mind so I hope I can help

How The Science Of Spirit Is Not “Pseudoscience”

http://thespiritscience.net/2015/09/...pseudoscience/

“A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote:

“The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion: the universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual.” – R.C. Henry, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University , “The Mental Universe” ; Nature 436:29,2005) (source)

“I shall not commit the fashionable stupidity of regarding everything I cannot explain as a fraud. ” – Dr. Carl Jung
