Dust devil
This might seem a strange little story, but it gave me quite a fright at the time,
It all started when I read about how you can make a new year wish list on a new moon, I carried out the instructions wrote down 3 wishes and burned the edges of the list with a white candle then buried it under a tree, like I read Next morning I looked over to the place where my list was buried, and was shocked to see a Little whirl wind or dust devil hovering over the spot, it was about 3 feet high, as I approached it came towards me picking up leaves and dust and seem to chase me for a while, I dodged it and it went on its way And yes my wishes did came true |
Interesting story, fayette, thanks for sharing ! I wonder what the little dust devil was ? guardian of the wishes ?

Why does everything have to 'mean something' around here? |
Well it did seem strange at the time how it was spinning over the spot where I buried my wishes , and just stationary until I approached
It was like I had released some energy of some kind |

well, maybe it was just the wind  either way it was a cool story, lighten up a little bit it was just a question  thank you fayette for your reply ! |
I don't think I need to "lighten up". Maybe you were joking but it seems that many people around here, and just in general, do try to find 'meaning' in everything. As if the entire universe is one giant cosmic theatre and we are all its unwilling actors. It doesn't need to be seen this way and I was just trying to make this point. I think that is a pretty morbid way to look at things.
I'm sorry if that was too serious a point for you, though. In general I love 'paranormal' topics and discussions. I just don't really see the point in trying to make everything 'mean something'. Sometimes "I don't know" or even general skepticism is really the best answer. |
Doesn't really sound odd. It actually sounds like a dust devil acting like a typical dust devil.
Dust devils do stay stationary you know when there's no wind to move the actual funnel. Ps. The dust devil likely wasn't "chasing" you the fact that you ran away made a small vacuum of air that caused it to move. Same as if you ran away from a floating feather, the feather would "chase" you. |
Thankyou Cyrianne, I have seldom seen them, but what you said makes sense, I think now its presence was probably just a coincidence

Ahh but there is no such thing as coincidence.... |

I think you do need to lighten up. |
Thankyou all for viewing my post, I have been reading a bit about Elementals
and how they can appear in many forms, and was wondering if there was a possibility that a Elemental could take the form of a Dust Devil |
Interesting story, fayette, thanks for sharing !
|
Fayette, I don't believe in coincidences only synchronicities. The fact that it happened where you buried your wishes was something in my view. Thanks for sharing your interesting story
|
That's an interesting story. And I don't believe in coincidences either. Especially if the event moved you in one way or another. True I don't think everything single detail in the world is a sign of sorts, but if something happens that significant enough for you to take notice, I think that's worth at least acknowledging and appreciating.
|
Aw, that's so very happy that your wishes came true!
Interesting |
Thanks all, yes! I am pleased too my wishes were granted, but must say that the dust devil looked so much like some sort of entity hovering over the spot where I buried my wishlist, it stuck in my mind
Then later I found out that the little ritual I had preformed was in fact a spell unbeknown to me at the time. that really seeded my imagination |
Fayette, lovely experience. Nature spirits including the fae folk appear as little whirlwinds.

I understand the cynicism of some of the users here; it can be frustrating when people see something that you don't. I recall when I was younger and visiting a graveyard in St. Augustine, Florida. My friends went running in terror from what they say was a ghost. I turned and looked and saw nothing. I was instantly annoyed at them but it's because I felt cheated out of some strange or magical experience that they all shared without me. The thing is, you pretty much see what you want to see. You saw a dust devil over your wishes, it had meaning to you, and that's the ecstatic truth to take away from this. If someone wants to see a coincidental gust of wind and dust, that's exactly what they're seeing. Everyone gets the perspective they want.

I was surprised to see the Dust Devil at the time,it was something I have seldom seen, and it was not expected
I have just searched with google on Dust Devils and have been amazed to see the spiritual significance they hold in various parts of the world Some believe the spirits of the dead can take this form, and to others djin or genies can appear as a Dust Devil Also I read that the spinning of a Dust Devil produces electrical and magnetic fields, and even radio noise something I never new ! The Aura that surrounds our bodies is a electromagnetic field, and spirit is also said to possess this EM field. So I think there is more to a Dust Devil then meets the eye |

Yes ! I believe this could be so |
I'll tell you that I experienced something similar.
I was 15 years old and walking on my way to school. I passed down a street feeling very down because I wasn't looking forward to school and meeting buliies. I was picked on every day. As I was walking, I noticed a small "tornado" about my height (5ft 5 inches), spinning on the other side of the road. It was picking up leaves and came to meet me. I felt a little whoosh and suddenly a calmness. It disappeared. That seemed to me a spirit giving me a hug. |
It is lovely Howla Dark, that it brought you comfort.
I believe spirit can interact in what seems mysterious ways, but this is only because there is more that we don't know then we do |
Hello
Saw one today in the morning walking in the park with my sister and her dog. The leaves were going around like a vortex whirling alongside while we were walking. Lasted for about 5-10 seconds - pretty amazing. Lepus |
