Do you play any musical instruments?

Do you play any musical instruments?

How many of our forum members play any musical instrument(s). It doesn't mean to play it professionally, you may know to play a few songs only.

You can vote only and there is no need to post a reply in the thread if you don't want to.
The list of the people who vote is not publicly shown.

I learned to play keyboard/piano when I was a kid. I also know to play drums. Later I learned to play some guitar and harmonica too.

When I was a kid, laying down on my bed with closed eyes, and the electric keyboard next to me, playing on it with one hand, improvising my own music, was one of the best methods to relax/meditate/recharge-my-batteries or how ever you want to call it.

In 4th grade I played drums for a few months in the school band but I got tired of it and quit right before a concert.. I feel bad I did as they usually didnt let anyone under grade 5 join band...

The only thing I play is the gramophone,

I would have said 50 years ago.

I've sampled various instruments over the years but not stuck with anything. I'd like to find the time to learn to play the guitar, I chose not to learn it because it was too time consuming.

Izz 25-03-2022 08:25 PM

I used to play the piano

*Joseph* 18-04-2022 09:31 PM

Piano, flute, tin whistle, Native American flute, lyre, kalimba, guitar. None of them with any great skill!

Bambo 01-05-2022 10:14 PM

Wow you had talent though to play all that!

Miss Hepburn 02-05-2022 12:52 PM

High School instruments forget about those, but I was first chair in 2.
Now, cello and piano mainly.
Bought a Duduk, I haven't picked it up yet. Now I'm inspired to again after watching these below. :)
It is the most soothing music to me.

It is said it's the closest instrument to the human voice.

No. I’d like to think I’d make an ace bass player though. Draw people in with the beat and tell them a story with it.

Anala 13-08-2022 10:03 PM

Taught myself flute and piano.

I really want to learn to play the drum kit and native drums.

Could you imagine? :D

Bambo 14-08-2022 08:40 PM

Wow to be able to teach oneself how to play those is impressive!!

girlsearching 09-09-2022 05:04 AM

I voted No on the poll. but I wish I knew how to play a instrument. I do not have the patience to learn . I'd want to be able to play multi-instruments that would be awesome.

lamb1 11-09-2022 09:25 AM

Haha... Hopefully Bambo and the person in the post above were not in the same school band !!

I cannot play any instruments but I would love to be able to play the piano properly .
I love to watch pianists . So beautiful.

Dude111 27-11-2022 12:46 AM

Ah man!!

I dont know if we were or not.........

AngelBlue 27-11-2022 07:16 AM

Haha... Boys and their toys..
My brothers were the same.
Novelty soon wore off...

They let me play the sticks and triangle in primary school band.
Not sure if they are classed as "instruments" but I got kicked out ( age 6) when they discovered I would be absent on a family holiday that week, and so, during band practise I had to go and play with plasticine !!!

do you play an instrument?

do you play any musical instruments? i started playing electric guitar a while back but it feels rather awkward at the start and it's like your watching the fretboard like a hawk lol i've no idea how players can play without looking. i was thinking about trying bass guitar aswel. i used to play the piano before when i was younger but i found that much easier to start out on and then it gradually got harder but guitar is challenging at the start i think from my experience.

Miss Hepburn 15-07-2023 05:52 PM

Speaking of instruments -I play many, BUT, I just ordered, (coming in 6 more days!),
a HandPan ...22 inches in Dm. I can't WAIT!!!!

Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgT9gRoJY20
Mine is that size, more in a gold tone.

With everything I know I NEVER realized, never thought about it that a Dm scale is just like an F major scale....lol, I just never
thought that much about minor scales before.
Makes me laugh the things we learn that are so obvious!

Blackunicorn 16-07-2023 10:51 PM

i do ! i play piano and guitar

Dude111 16-07-2023 11:17 PM

Welcome!!!

Miss Hepburn 20-07-2023 02:51 PM

I just bought one of these...came yesterday from Amazon!
I have a lot to practice before I play for anyone...FUN...I love to
keep my mind on the ball with practicing something so worthwhile.
A handpan...not as easy as it looks ...to be good anyway.

The only thing I want do do but haven't done in regards to self growth is playing an instrument. I tried guitar because it seems so general. I think I have a decent ear for tones etc but the finger man they killed me.
Anyone has any good tip for an easy instrument?

Hello Runecaster :) what about the harmonica? it's small, you can take it with you and play tunes and melodies wherever you are. Or maybe bongos if you like to keep the beat!
