Turmeric as a natural medicine against cancer
Turmeric is usually used as a spice in Indian curries.
It has a lot of medical benefits as per Ayurveda, and this could be a reason why it is used a lot in Indian cuisines , especially curries. Turmeric is an ingredient in many Ayurvedic medicines as well. It is also known for its cancer fighting properties... https://www.webmd.com/cancer/can-turmeric-fight-cancer It is also easy to prepare in one's own garden, and my mother makes a lot of turmeric as well as other beneficial herbs in the garden which she uses in her cooking. |
Oh my - turmeric is used for so many medicinal things, yes.
I rem 1995 I had a bloating issue. I took capsules of turmeric and fennel 2-3 times a day...in 5 days my tummy was as flat as a pancake. They supposedly killed off bad bacteria in my intestines. I use it when I go out to whiten my teeth...lasts until I have coffee or tea...lol. I also drink Golden Milk a few times a week for any inflammation...we all have inflammation somewhere, they say. (Can be Googled how to make.) Rem it absorbs better with black pepper. |
Thanks for the inputs, Miss Hepburn. I am glad that you are adept in self-care and have knowledge of these herbs and applications.
Herbal medicines can be efficacious in these issues, while being cheap and lacking side-effects. |
I was advised by my doctor to take Tumeric it did nothing for me at all

There are many things to consider too, an herbalist recommended I take nettle, tried the tea bags from health store with no effect , picked my own fresh early in the year with great effect.l also feel little benefit from shop bought brassicas unless it is organic, the allotment stuff is an higher level again. When I have had tumeric fresh the organic root taste better than the normal stuff, think a lot of stuff just grown to get bulk for weight price so false economy, some of the supplements may just use the bulk grown stuff. |
I Took Turmeric for three months but it did nothing for me so i gave it up.

They are taken more as a preventive medicine. Allopathic medicines are significant in emergencies, and healing is fast and tangible. |
Please be aware when anyone Recommends you to take any prescription be it Herbal or otherwise, you ask your Doctor first

I also must state here that I have come across people who had exhausted all options that Allopathy could offer, but got effective treatment in Ayurveda and Hatha yoga.
Arthur Boorman and Brad Willis are famous examples in this regard who were able to heal themselves with Hatha Yoga when they were given a poor prognosis by their doctors. A colleague of mine , who worked as an aeronautical engineer , had issues with infertility and had consulted various Allopathic specialists and treatments to no avail. He and his wife had resigned to a life with no children. In his forties he came across an Ayurvedic treatment method for fertility issues with a good track record. After trying out this treatment, he and his wife had two children. Because he got his children late in life, he used to joke about looking like a grandfather next to them in photographs. But he was happy that the treatment worked and hence usually spreads a good word about Ayurveda. These case studies showed me that allopathic treatments need not be the last word, and alternative medicines can also be opted for healing purposes. |
One has to understand that health is a whole-life approach to psychology, activity and nutrition, and beneficial dietary compounds don't work in isolation, so by all means include turmeric within a positive approach to health and fitness (I also often consume turmeric), but make sure your approach is holistic across your entire life-span.
