maybe he doesn't like raw food ? :D just because he is married to a raw vegan chef , doesn't necessarily mean he likes the food ~ just a thought

Erato 10-11-2010 02:20 PM

Yes, maybe. :D But he went on a raw food diet after "Supersize Me" and he does do raw food cleansings periodically. He never talked specifically about switching and yet he is part of that community. Why would he be in the "Simply RAW" movie if he doesn't subscribe to the lifestyle?

money honey ! :D just kidding, I have no clue !

Hello to all.

I've been living a raw food lifestyle since 2007, after experimenting with it for a couple of years before that, and I can truly say that it has raised my awareness to a completely new level.

I know it's not necessarily for everyone right now, but it isn't as difficult as you might think.

Saying that, I must also say, if you are craving certian foods, flesh foods or cooked foods, whatever... there is something there that should not be ignored.

Namaste

Hi shamandreaming.
Do you follow David Wolfe, Matt and Angela Monarch, Paul Nison, Fred Bisci, Kevin Gianni etc.? Who inspired you to go raw?

I have read much from David Wolfe, Gabriel Cousins, Matt Monarch and his lovely wife Angela (although they weren't married when I first found her), The Boutenkos (The Raw Family), and many, many more wonderful people who are truly inspirational to me.

I followed Kevin Gianni and his wife on youtube for a while, as well as some others who vlog about their raw experience. It was very interesting to watch them evolve (or not).

However, the first book on the raw food lifestyle I bought was the one by Alissa Cohen called "Living on Live Food". I found her website and pre-ordered her book years ago and it has been one truly wonderful experience after another since then. I must give her the credit for being the one to initially inspire me.

I was so fortunate to do a "juice feast" last year for 92 days that completely changed my life, I was turned onto it by Angela Stokes (now Monarch), who blogged about her experience with it. David Rainosheck has a website that is phenomenal if one wants to pursue that experience.

I can't say that I follow one person over another in this, as I find it to be a singularly personal experience, but the ones who have gone before me, the "pioneers", so to speak, have been so very open and giving about sharing information about their experiences, it makes it almost effortless. There are challenges to be sure, but it's so worth it for me.

A couple of others that I failed to mention who are truly wonderful in my opinion are Daniel Vitalis and Mathew Kenney (who takes raw food to the level of an art form).

Namaste, my friend,

I cannot speak for others, of course, but for myself the longer I live choosing raw food to sustain me, the easier and simpler it gets. Others have a different experience and create fabulous and intense flavors in their diets on a daily basis.

There are times, especially in winter where I open one of my "non" cookbooks for recipes that are more substantial. I also eat more raw grains, nuts and seeds in winter.

In the spring and summer months I eat mainly fresh greens like spinach, watercress, kale or any combination of leafy greens with a light dressing of lemon or raw apple cider vinegar and cold-pressed olive oil with fresh herbs or fresh fruit or vegetables. I also love sea vegetables (seaweed) in salads or homegrown sprouts and young greens. The options are endless.

I typically drink wheatgrass juice that I grow and press myself on a daily basis as well, I have grown to love it.

I will share with you the fact that I lived with anorexia as a teen and later became a compulsive eater for many years, as I allowed food to control my experience in this life. I think that is why I now choose simple, nourishing foods and I don't think too much about it.
