View Full Version : CALL FOR URGENT HELP

Amethyst
24-01-2011, 02:13 PM
Merry meet to all my brothers and sisters.

I CALL TO ALL UK MEMBERS FOR YOUR URGENT ASSISTANCE.

Mother Earth needs our protection from humanity and your assistance is needed now.

The Earth is also home to the living beings of the trees and plants who provide for us.

THE UK GOVERNMENT PLANS TO SELL OUR FORESTS.

That includes national treasures like the The Forest of Dean, Sherwood Forest and The New Forest.

We cannot allow this to happen.

They could be auctioned and fenced off, run down, logged or turned into golf courses and holiday villages.

We need to stop these plans.

A huge petition will force the government to rethink its plans.

If we can prove how strongly the public are against this, they will have to back down.

Please sign the petition in the link below now. (You need to enter a UK postcode to sign).

http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/s/save-our-forests#petition

Some blurb:

Our campaign to Save Our Forests hit the headlines this weekend!

First our petition and an opinion poll - paid for by hundreds of 38 Degrees members - were reported on Countryfile, the Today programme and BBC 5 Live breakfast. Then a group including the Archbishop of Canterbury backed our campaign - making the front page of the Sunday Telegraph!

Our pressure is starting to work. If enough of us sign the petition, we can make the government think again.

Please can you help spread the word, and ask your friends to sign the petition too? If enough of us get involved we can to stop these plans - before it's too late and our forests are already being sold, fenced off, run down, cut down or built over.

Please help get the petition past 200,000 signatures this week - forward this e-mail and ask your friends to sign.

They can sign in under a minute by clicking this link:

http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests

If you use Facebook, please also spread the word by sharing the petition on your profile:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/forests-facebook-share

If you use Twitter, please send a “tweet” about the petition by clicking here:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/forests-twitter-share

Our pressure has got the government worried. They've started a charm offensive, telling us that they love forests too. But right now, despite the warm fuzzy words, David Cameron is pushing through changes to the law. He still wants to make it legal to sell off 100% of our woodlands.

Forests like the Forest of Dean, the New Forest, Bedgebury, Grizedale, Thetford, and Alice Holt are national treasures. Once they’re gone, they are lost forever. If we get enough signatures on the petition, we have a bigger chance of making sure they are protected for wildlife and future generations.

Please forward this e-mail and ask your friends to sign the petition here:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests

Thanks for being involved.

Blessings, Amethyst x

Thank you Danii=Marie.

Spread the word!

I call the divine to hear my plea,
Protect our forests from humanity.

Ancient woodlands, our government plans to sell,
The future of trees is not looking well.

Stop them now with all your power,
Protect nature’s tree, plant & flower.

Stop now this disgraceful plan,
Protect precious forests from deeds of man.

Blessings and thanks for hearing my plea,
So mote it be and blessed be.

We cannot allow these vandals to spoil our beautiful places [ the National Parks are also under attack ! ]
Ignore their statements about being Nature lovers too, they lie by default. They understand one thing - money ! Actually two things, we can hurt them at the next election and we should do so, badly !
These are people who know the price of everything and the value of nothing.
These forests are ancient and hold the soul and spirit of the Land.

Just a sample of what is at risk

OK folks, the government petition site is in the "No active petitions" mode atm but it did say that any petition with more than 100000 signatures must be debated in parliament - well, the number is approaching 250000.

However, how bolshie do you want to be over this ?
I have just e-mailed David Miliband asking for his response. We could give him some ammo in debate

Good News - target of 250000 signatories achieved AND the Ramblers Association plus National Trust have come out in support.
Ramblers Association are a real bolshie bunch. Formed in 1930 [ish], they carried out a "Mass trespass" onto private land in the Derbyshire Peaks at Kinder Scout - big scuffle with gamekeepers employed by Duke of Devonshire. It proved to be a turning point in the Association and now they defend the "Right to Roam", and fight any attempt to close off ancient "Rights of Way".
They promote walking and general countryside issues. 485 Ramblers groups plus 350 associated groups - not a mob to be tangled with. I did "patrols" in the Dales National Park to "advise" visitors when the Right to Roam Laws first came in and the Ramblers gave good support.
Anywho, brilliant effort by all concerned. Now to see if it makes any difference. Keep signing folks - why stop at 250000 ?

I have seen one cormorant in my life. So. it's fish eaters they want to cull, is it. Kingfishers, Fish Eagles, Sea birds in general then. Add them to the list which begins with badgers and gamekeepers putting out poisoned bait for Red Kite [ just re-introduced in the North ]. Ends with the Philistines who want to build wind turbines in National Parks. I have no special beef with the turbines or nuclear power stations, providing they build them in Central London - plenty of open space there and the Thames for cooling water.

I think the Ramblers Association set a very good example on Kinder Scout all those years ago. If democratic petitioning fails in the face of bigoted extremist right-wing doctrines, then actions must be more direct. Remember what happened with Thatcher's Poll Tax ?

38Degrees are in need of funds to continue the fight - see link below. Anything thing you can afford. £20000 needed to run adverts in national media. By the way, Forestry workers jobs are under threat and they are planning a protest march in London - no details as yet

Dear xxxxxx

Amazing - thousands of us chipped in to get our Save Our Forests ads in the papers. We raised £20,000 in 6 hours!

Now we've just heard that on Wednesday there's going to be a vote in Parliament on the government's plans to sell our forests.

If we can raise £40,000 we can get huge Save Our Forests ads in national newspapers on the day of the vote. Imagine what MPs will think when over breakfast they see our huge people-powered Save Our Forests ads! They'll know we won't stand for their plans to flog our forests.

Can you donate now? You can make a secure donation here:

The forest thing is being debated on Countryfile as I write [ see it on BBC I-Player ]
I hope this kerfuffle has made everyone think about how they value our forests. If we dont watch this closely, the developers will sneak in through the backdoor - this government being proven liars.
If, when push comes to shove, new owners start closing off areas where we previously had access, then we have the example set by the Ramblers Association almost 80 years ago at Kinder Scout. I wont give the details as I would be accused of advocating illegal acts .
In another forum where I "hang out", there is a running joke about who is the Secret Policeman checking who is saying what in that forum :D and messages are left for him/her.
That could never happen here, COULD IT ? [ expecting a knock at my door around midnight :D]

Thank you Ruby Summer, Dreamer444 and dear Sparrow for the support.

Here's the latest update re. the petition:

This Wednesday there is a crunch vote in Parliament. MPs will vote on a motion demanding a rethink of plans to sell our national forests. The fact this vote is happening shows that MPs have noticed our campaign. But we're not done yet.

On Wednesday morning, MPs will open the newspapers to see full-page adverts showing the number of people who’ve taken a stand by signing the Save Our Forests petition. The more of us that sign the petition the more pressure MPs will be under.

Right now, the petition is nearly 330,000 strong, and every name counts.

So we’re setting a bold new target of half a million people by 5pm on Tuesday in time for the ad printing deadline and Wednesday’s hugely important vote.

Will you take a moment to spread the word right now?

So many of us have joined this campaign because we all understand something the government doesn’t seem to get yet: that our woodlands and forests are priceless, and once they’re gone they’re gone forever.

We know that places like the Forest of Dean, the New Forest, Grizedale, Thetford, and Alice Holt are national treasures. We know that they belong to all of us, and we will do whatever we can to keep them in public hands and protect them for future generations.

That’s why thousands of 38 Degrees members have chipped in to pay for these adverts in the first place -- and it’s not too late for more of us who care about our woodlands to be heard.

Forward this email and ask your friends to sign the petition by using the link below:

http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests (http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/redir.php?link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.38degrees.org.uk%2 Fsave-our-forests)

Every new signature adds weight to our message – so we’ll be holding off on printing the final ad until the absolute last moment.

Thanks for getting involved,

David, Hannah, Johnny and the 38 Degrees team

330000 !!!! Absolute bl.... magic !

Worst case scenario.
80 years ago, the Ramblers Association [ about 4/500 of them ] carried out a mass trespass on private land in Derbyshire at Kinder Scout. There were violent confrontations with gamekeepers, resulting in a couple of arrests for assault but TRESPASS WAS NOT, AND IS STILL NOT, A CRIMINAL OFFENCE IN ANY PART OF THE UK ! This is just for information, I am advocating nothing

This was an epiphany which lead to the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 and the Right to Roam campaign in the 90's leading to the CROW Act.
500 people prepared to put their feet where their mouths were. This time, there are 330000 of us. Our ancestors have walked these lands for millenia and we will not be told that we cannot by a politician !

Big day tomorrow folks. Look out for the adverts in your morning paper. Cut it out and stick it in your car or in the window of your home.

Lets be clear on what is happening. This government is proposing to sell off something that does not belong to them - that is usually referred to as Theft.
These are my forests, your forests, our childrens forests, part of our heritage. For thousands of years, our ancestors hunted in those forests and made their homes there. All this just to save a small amount of money for a non-elected government. So, you know what your duty is !

Now you may think that I am seriously deranged over this but I dont care about that.

I CALL ON THE SPIRITS OF OUR ANCESTORS AND THE SPIRITS OF THE FORESTS TO MAKE THEIR FEELINGS KNOWN !

I wonder what they make of this waffle of a reply I received from the House of Commons:

"The Government are committed to shifting the balance of power from 'Big Government' to 'Big society' by giving individuals, businesses, civil society organisations and local authorities a much bigger role in protecting and enhancing the natural environment and a much bigger say about our priorities for it."

"By enabling powers in the Bill we will be in a position to make reforms to managing the estate. We will consult the public on our proposals later this year and will invite views from a wide range of potential private and civil society partners on a number of new ownership options and the means to secure public benefits."

"We envisage a managed programme of reform to further develop a competitive, thriving and resilient forestry sector that includes many sustainably managed woods operating as parts of viable land-based businesses."

OK. I have a letter from my M.P. which I will attempt to attach.

The Labour Party has taken up this battle in Parliament, obviously for their own agenda but ,what the Hell, lets make use of them.
There is a website launched by the Shadow Environment Secretary - looks worthwhile to join to continue the campaign

Today

Dear Paul,

This week MPs had their first chance to vote on forest sell-off plans - so we took our Save Our Forests campaign to parliament. Nearly 100,000 of us emailed and phoned our MPs. We ran full-page newspaper adverts publicising the number of names on the petition. Every single MP felt the heat. [1]

It's starting to work! We pushed six government MPs to rebel and vote for a rethink. MPs from all parties stood up to talk about problems with the sell-off. Even David Cameron has started making vague hints that he might be willing to back down. [2]

From the postcode you put in when you signed the petition, it looks like you live in Houghton and Sunderland South constituency. That means your MP voted the right way, demanding a rethink of the sell-off plans - brilliant! Now's the time to get back in touch - let them know we noticed how they voted, say thank you, but also keep the pressure up. [3]

Please email your MP to say thanks and ask them to keep fighting to save our forests:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/email-your-mp-forests-voted-yes (http://webmail.tiscali.co.uk/cp/ps/Mail/ExternalURLProxy?d=tiscali.co.uk&u=pjkennerley&url=http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c05a3b/2d4d32ae/586e68a4/4674fdda/3556646515/VEsF/&urlHash=9.799172884076218E-147)

Every single MP heard from hundreds of us this week. But a lot of them will be hoping the fuss will now die down. We need to get back in touch quickly, to prove we are here for the long haul. MPs need to feel we will keep watching them until our woods are protected for future generations.

The next time MPs vote on selling off our woodland, it could be a make-or-break vote to pave the way for privatisation. We need to keep the spotlight on every MP. They need to keep hearing from us by email, on the phone, and face-to-face. Together we can make them realise that if they vote to sell our forests, local voters won't forgive them.

Together, we're showing politicians that they can't get away with pushing through policies that nobody voted for and hardly anyone supports. We're standing up for the principle that some things are so precious that no government should be allowed to sell them off. If we keep going, we can save our forests and stand up for our right to be heard.

Click here to thank them for voting to save our forests:

[whisper this quietly !] The government has backed down on selling off the Nature Reserves and is now starting to mealy-mouth that "the forestry sale was not set in stone and suggested that the proposals might be abandoned"
Dare we say that maybe we have won ? Lets just keep the pressure on these cheap spivs to make sure.
One bit of news that I thought was very funny.

Latest e-mail

Dear Paul,

Our Save Our Forests campaign is creating a national sensation! We now have nearly half a million signatures on our petition -- that's more than the population of Liverpool. [1]

That’s because we understand something the government doesn’t: our natural forests are priceless, and once they’re gone - they’re gone forever.

Our campaign is already all over the news and politicians are getting increasingly nervous. That’s why the most important thing we can do right now is spread the word and ensure our petition continues to grow as quickly as possible. [2]

Please forward this email to your friends and ask them to sign. All they have to do is click on the link and add their names:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests (http://webmail.tiscali.co.uk/cp/ps/Mail/ExternalURLProxy?d=tiscali.co.uk&u=pjkennerley&url=http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c05a2d/2d4d32ae/5865b6b4/4674fc3f/1330129405/VEsF/&urlHash=5.3831358953768325E56)

Government ministers are trying to distract us with warm and fuzzy words about how much they love the forests. They've announced a "consultation" on how we'd like our forests sold off - even though they already know most of us don't want them sold off at all!

Even before this so-called consultation finishes they're busy trying to change the laws that currently protect public forests. This is blatantly clearing the way for a massive sell-off. What kind of consultation is that?

Don’t let them get away with it - tell everyone you know about our campaign right now.
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests (http://webmail.tiscali.co.uk/cp/ps/Mail/ExternalURLProxy?d=tiscali.co.uk&u=pjkennerley&url=http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c05a2d/2d4d32ae/5865b6b4/4674fc3f/1330129405/VEsC/&urlHash=-1.37935977643125488E17)

If they want a consultation, here it is: 38 Degrees members chipped in to fund a national opinion poll which proved that 84% of the public want our forests kept in public hands for future generations.

Places like the Forest of Dean, the New Forest, Grizedale, Thetford, and Alice Holt are national treasures. We don’t want the natural places that belong to future generations flogged off for a quick cash grab today. But if we don’t rally together now, we may not have a choice.

Our petition already has over 470,000 names on it, including yours. Can you help us get to 500,000? Please forward this email and ask your friends to add their name:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests (http://webmail.tiscali.co.uk/cp/ps/Mail/ExternalURLProxy?d=tiscali.co.uk&u=pjkennerley&url=http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c05a2d/2d4d32ae/5865b6b4/4674fc3f/1330129405/VEsD/&urlHash=5.798872878314914E-276)

Some good news but we cannot relax yet. The job is only half done and we must keep the pressure on.
e-mail yesterday

Dear Paul,

Breaking news! The government have announced they will pause forest sell-offs for a few months. It's a brilliant sign, but our forests are still in danger. If we keep working together, we can save our forests forever - not just for a few months.

The government is still going full steam ahead with changing the law to clear the way for a 100% sell-off. It looks like they hope the fuss will die down if they pause a few sales here and there - so they can press on with quietly scrapping legal protection for our public woodlands.

Our petition is now 490,000 strong. Let's show the government we will keep campaigning until English forests are safe, by making sure the petition passes half a million signatures today.

Please forward this email and ask your friends to sign:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests (http://webmail.tiscali.co.uk/cp/ps/Mail/ExternalURLProxy?d=tiscali.co.uk&u=northpennines&url=http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c05a26/2d42eba9/58621dac/4674fc68/3569895210/VEsH/&urlHash=-1.2385671647447959E-18)

Picture yourself in the last forest you visited. Remember how you felt, what you saw, how peaceful it was. Now imagine hearing that this beautiful place has been auctioned off. We just can't let it happen!

By working together, bit by bit, we are protecting our woodlands for future generations. Since 38 Degrees members voted to launch this campaign, we've spread the word, emailed our MPs, and chipped in to pay for opinion polls and adverts. It’s starting to work - today is a time to celebrate. But we also need to keep the pressure building.

Please forward this email and ask your friends to help get our petition past half a million signatures today:
http://www.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-forests (http://webmail.tiscali.co.uk/cp/ps/Mail/ExternalURLProxy?d=tiscali.co.uk&u=northpennines&url=http://www.38degrees.org.uk/page/m/74c05a26/2d42eba9/58621dac/4674fc68/3569895210/VEsE/&urlHash=5.832165626593122E164)

Hi all.

Please could you spare a few seconds of your time to show further support to the 38 Degrees’ campaign to save the ancient forests from being sold (PHUT!) as they are scheduled to meet with the government’s forest panel this Friday?

Simply click this link:

https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/our-forest-panel-message (http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/redir.php?link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spiritualforums.co m%2Fvb%2Fredir.php%3Flink%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww .spiritualforums.com%252Fvb%252Fredir.php%253Flink %253Dhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fsecure.38degrees.or g.uk%25252Four-forest-panel-message)

Thank you.

UPDATE FROM 38 DEGREES:

The government’s forests panel have asked 38 Degrees members for a meeting this Friday to find out our priorities for protecting Britain’s forests in the future.

Because we can’t fit all 500,000+ people who've campaigned to save our forests around the table, 38 Degrees members have spent the last few weeks attending get-togethers and sharing our ideas for the future of our forests.

Using the same technology that helps analyse regular member surveys, we’ve worked out our three top demands from 38 Degrees members to the forests panel

Keeping our forests in public ownership
Protecting the incredible variety of animals and plants that live in our forests
Making sure as many people as possible are able to enjoy our forests, including those who don’t have access to a car, or use a wheelchair, as well as those who want to ride horses or bikesIf you’re on board with these priorities, click to show your support by signing our new petition now – and we’ll present it to the panel on Friday:

https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/our-forest-panel-message (http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/redir.php?link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spiritualforums.co m%2Fvb%2Fredir.php%3Flink%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww .spiritualforums.com%252Fvb%252Fredir.php%253Flink %253Dhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fsecure.38degrees.or g.uk%25252Four-forest-panel-message)

This panel could come under pressure from government. They could end up recommending wise ways of protecting forests for the future, or they could end up legitimising another stab at a sell-off in a few years’ time.

Because 38 Degrees members worked together in record numbers to stop the sell-off of England’s forests in the first place, we already have their attention – and so far engagement has been constructive. When the panel put out the call for submissions from the public, nearly 35,000 of us responded.

Our submissions made such an impact that they rang the 38 Degrees office to arrange a meeting to discuss our views in more depth. The question now is, will this panel ultimately give the government a back door for privatisation? Or will they hold firm to the bedrock principles we should never abandon at any price?

Help tip the balance in favour of honest, sensible recommendations for the future of our forests. Add your name to the petition now:
https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/our-forest-panel-message (http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/redir.php?link=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.spiritualforums.co m%2Fvb%2Fredir.php%3Flink%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww .spiritualforums.com%252Fvb%252Fredir.php%253Flink %253Dhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fsecure.38degrees.or g.uk%25252Four-forest-panel-message)

Just a few months ago, politicians were shocked to discover that protecting forests wasn’t just the hobby of a few people, but something lots of us cared passionately about, and were prepared to fight for in large numbers. [3]
We proved that when 537,490 of us signed the Save Our Forests petition.

Now we're going to meet the forests panel in Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest in Kent this Friday to hand over all our suggestions - and to ensure our top priorities can’t be missed.

Public ownership. Protecting wildlife and plant diversity. Accessibility for all. Add your name to back these priorities now and let's deliver a united message piled high with signatures - that we expect them to stand tall with the people, and insist we protect England’s woodlands for future generations:
Thanks for being involved,

Hannah, Cian, David, Johnny, Marie, Becky and the 38 Degrees team

Thanks for being involved.

Hi Metavate & Geminilite

The link in the OP was the petition to initially protest and it had strong backing from the public so the government reversed their decision.

Norseman’s got a celebratory thread here:

The link in post #56 here was to show public support for 38 Degrees team as they had a meeting with the Government’s Forest panel.

I think 38 Degrees deserve a huge round of applause for work they have done and continue to do.

Hi Norseman

I’ve not had an update yet of how the meeting went but will post any news.

They have another campaign running to save the countryside if others would like to show support:

Thank you for any support.

Tell West Berkshire Council to Save Watership Down

http://www.fairytastic.co.uk/Images/watership down.jpg

"Hazel, look... the field... it's covered with blood!" Watership Down by Richard Adams.

Set in the rolling green hills of West Berkshire, Watership Down is a novel that has caught the imagination of children and adults for decades. The powerful narrative describes the impact of human development on wildlife, as the rabbits in the story escape the destruction of their warren to seek a new home.

Now fiction is becoming reality.

Sandleford Park which served as the inspiration for author Richard Adams in writing his tale, has been chosen by West Berkshire County Council as the site for 2,000 new homes -- a move that could destroy fragile ecosystems that are home to wildlife and ancient woodlands.

Local resident Jean Norton has set-up a petition on Change.org (http://www.change.org/petitions/save-watership-down-dont-develop-sandleford-park?utm_medium=email&utm_source=action_alert) calling for West Berkshire Council to protect Sandleford Park, home of Watership Down and say no to the proposed housing development. Next week the council will be meeting to assess the public view towards the development. Local residents have been knocking on doors spreading word about the campaign and urging local councillors to vote against the development.

Now they need to show the weight of national public support to preserve this area of land, the ecosystem, forest and animals that live there -- please add your name (http://www.change.org/petitions/save-watership-down-dont-develop-sandleford-park?utm_medium=email&utm_source=action_alert) to the petition to save Watership Down and keep it as a haven for wildlife.

Author of Watership Down, Richard Adams, has already added his support to the campaign to preserve the area. According to local campaigners, the development will not only contribute to a dramatic reduction in wildlife but will also have a devastating impact on the residents of the area and place severe strain on the regional infrastructure.

In the novel, the rabbits of Watership Down seek a new haven after destruction of their Sandleford warren - with this threat becoming a reality will you stand up and help protect the rabbits and environment of Watership Down? Thanks Amythest!-- will be heading over there!

ps.. do any of you UK folk live in Northumberland, Ireland? I just saw an excellent 3 part movie filmed over there titled "The Dwelling Place" -- the setting takes place in the turn of the century. The area filmed has beautiful hilly landscapes dotted with heather , rocks and field grasses. Wild areas like that NEED to be preserved . It's not just about the rabbits, but the need to keep intact what remaining ecosystems and prairie lands still remaining for the good of all life- including human life.
Our short-sighted greedy corporations and land developers could care less about that. There needs to be some sort of regulations and restraint placed on these developers, gas drillers, and corporations who only see dollar signs and will sacrifice true value just to line their pockets.

In the United States we have a problem with our big energy corporations as well- In the 1920's up to the 1970's, in Pennsylvania, the coal corporations had totally NO restraint whatsoever and dug deeper than they should have, creating areas that are still caving in to this day. Also, the coal mining totallly corrupted the ground water and the land is permanently scarred forever-- (or at least until the end of mankind's "reign" on this Earth). Now they are blowing up precious Appalachian mountain topsin our Southern States and re-scarring the land again just to get about 2 -3 years worth of short term coal. The gas drilling in the remaining areas is even indirectly causing more earthquakes in areas normally earthquake free-and even though the gas companies brag about how "safe" thier procedures are, ground water is still being contaminated . Parts of Texas are experiencing record breaking drought- and that is mostly due to the gas drilling that has been going on over there for years. OF course, those in charge will deny that is the reason because big Energy lines the politicians pockets and the politicians and energy companies are united with each other in thier agendas.

Land developers in the US are also pathetic- there is no true need for constant wild land grabbing. Even with overpopulation, families can still restore existing old empty homes instead of taking over fresh wildlife habitat.

I wish i lived in the UK to help you save the forest. That is so sad it really makes me sick how much our society seems to not care for earth. I think to often people forget we live WITH nature not ON it. Im truly sorry to hear that those sick people are even considering doing this. I mean havent they destroyed enough? I hope this petition does well so that the forest will be saved.

Hi grim789

Thanks for your response.

The trees don’t belong to the UK, but to Mother Earth – so everyone who wants to should be able to sign.

Blows raspberry!

Hi Boldy my friend

Hug for always caring too. xxx

Not heard of that film. Re. the damage us humans do, I found what Sparrow had to say in one of his threads of great interest:

Are Any Natural Disasters A Result Of Mankind’s Wrongdoings?

There is no such thing as a natural disaster. If it is a disaster, then it cannot then be considered natural in any way.

It is true that the Earth itself goes through many periodic shifts and cycles. The structure of the Earth's inner core is constantly moving and changing from its own dynamic momentum.

The Earth also has cycles in relationship to its sun. It is, at this current time, once again tilting its axis in a sort of wobbling motion.

The weather conditions are the combination of different regional conditions which are colliding together in Earth's atmosphere, which causes dramatic local conditions within different regions of its surface. At the same time you have the alarming multiplication of human beings upon the Earth which are absorbing much of the Earth's natural resources to accommodate the growing population.

You have human beings decapitating the harmonic resource of the forests which Earth relies upon to maintain life support upon its surface, and within its core.

You have human beings which hunt and slaughter life forms for profit and pleasure, which upsets the food chain and creates massive chain reactions on a global scale.

You have biochemical pollutants being allowed to freely contaminate and kill the inherent living cells within seas and oceans which changes the very vibrational consistency of water, rain and cloud - not to mention the protective atmosphere.

You have human beings drilling into the Earth's crust which creates cracks and underground crevasses many hundreds of miles away.

You have state wide, country-sized haze of consciousness which hover above and around cities, towns and villages like a mushroom cloud of toxic gas. The list goes on.

There is little humanity can do in terms of changing the natural cycles of Earth.

However they can better predict and prevent the loss of many lives by investing in technology which detects and familiarises itself with such cycles and movements.

How one event elsewhere on the planet invokes an event elsewhere on the other side of the planet. How severe weather conditions manifest as a result of mutating/clashing smaller weather conditions from different global regions.

Humanity can better protect itself in many respects by planting billions of more trees and other plantations.

The existence of which would allow the bio-structure and eco-structure of Earth to absorb most of the harmful effects of different events.

Humanity also needs, urgently, to save and rescue its water purification levels, as it is the oceans which has the utmost influence on the majority of factors. Both for the atmospheric defence system of the Earth, and for the sustainability of life upon its surface, and within the oceans itself.

Also noting that the many chemicals being pumped into the oceans are being harvested into very toxic gasses in the atmosphere via heat from the sun. Such toxins are then being freely distributed over cities and towns around the world, breathed in through the skin, lungs and within food resources.

This ultimately leading to cell mutation and disease.

People have a voice, yet they bow down to their regional governments and simply accept what they are given and told is best for them.

It is up to each individual to step forward, unite as a civilisation, within cities, towns and villages and form a voice to be reckoned with.

A voice that no government dare repress.

A voice that no greedy corporation can hide under the rug or manipulate with wealth.

Such inhuman atrocities are taking place around the world simply because communities are not banding together and creating a voice for themselves to not only invoke, but demand change.

Do not let wealthy corporations lead your country, lead your country by the foundation of love and respect and the power of communication.

Communication and information circulation is your most powerful tool at the moment. Through this awareness is raised.

When enough people become so intolerant to the atrocities of ignorance and selfishness a new voice will form and lead humanity into a new era.

- SPARROW.
