Here's an exercise I developed for increasing compassion. It's spring and the vegetable patch is planted up and growing quite nicely and my annual war with the snails, slugs and insects is also hotting up. My usual method of dealing with snails and slugs is the usual beer traps, rolled oats and letting the chooķs out to eat them.
All of these methods result in the death of the snails. This year I've been picking them out by hand, putting them in a tin and dumping them at work far from where I live. Anyway it's something to try although it's not particularly effective, however it could be improved upon simply by devising a good bait for a trap that won't kill them.
Just something to think about.

And I am sure the snails do to.

Yes I love this too.
Recently we had an ant invasion in the house, totally out of control. So I found their pathway and placed honey in a container for them to feed continuously, they soon left the house and haven't been back since..

The other thing I am doing is that we have had swallows flying into our open sheds trying to nest, this has been ongoing for weeks. I figured rather than keep on keeping them out, I rang a friend who is going to make me a special swallow nesting box up high just in case they really do want and need to nest in the area.
