The essence of Self-actualization, of truly living life, is joy. Joy = love. They are actually One and the same Divine Reality, and even the emotion of love is joyous, as joy is loving.

Learning exists by virtue of joy (love, Source, God, etc., all synonymous in this context), meaning that learning is dependent upon the fact that choice exists, choice exists by virtue of freedom, and freedom is the basis of living, of all life.

"Purpose," spiritually-speaking in terms of learning, is obviously about learning to be joyous/aligned with Source.

A sense of purpose becomes dry and stale without a firm attitude of allowing joy, and unless you have a joyous attitude then you cannot even fully appreciate your own learning. How is your learning serving you unless you are HAPPY with it?

We do not learn just for the sake of learning. That makes no sense. We learn for the sake of awakening to our True Nature, which is joyous beyond description.

In terms of the journey of life in the dream of time/space, we learn so that we may appreciate What-Is, which is that we are alive, we exist. This is the "I AM."

You cannot have "enlightenment" or "self-realization" without joy. Try it; it always fails. Joy and "knowing thyself" are ultimately one and the same.

You cannot have love without joy, nor joy without love. While humans usually perceive them as "two," as aspects, the Divine Spirit knows love and joy as One. Love/joy is infinitely more than an emotion, or an aspect of Source. Source Itself is bliss beyond description.

In terms of our universal purpose, learning and joy ultimately go together; but remember that learning depends upon space-time, and joy does not! Joy actually exists beyond the notions time and space; learning obviously exists "within" the realms of time and space.

Understood in this context, joy/love is the True Purpose, certainly not "learning." Unless "learning" is defined in a manner as to refer to "being in alignment with your True Nature."

No creature exists for a purpose to learn, in itself, but all creatures exist by virtue of Oneness, which is Source, for the highest purpose to enjoy their existence.

No creature exists just in order to "get somewhere" or get "something," such as an imagined goal of "enlightenment" or mergence with God. The greatest fun to experience in a time-based universe is through an attitude of appreciating the ride, enjoying the journey.

For until we are absolutely in love with the journey, there is no total transcendence of human experience. Not even physical death is a true liberator, and any stubbornly-held degree of lack of love is enough to maintain an illusion of separation.

More than a goal, enlightenment is always here and now as the Reality behind the curtain, and is always accessed through self-appreciation/love/joy.
