How do I heal scars? There's a pretty bad scar on my gut area, I'd like that healed.

Wear your scar with pride :D
You can never heal scars but you can make them less noticeable by massage using some oils. Bio oil is surposed to be very good but I wouldn,t worry to much about them.

The scar is from a very bad thing. It's not something you wear with pride.

Also, depends on the scar...a chemical peel which sloughs off layers
helped a burn scar on my wrist...
smoothed it out also.

And may I take this opportunity to remind people that electric heating pads
CAN heat into infinity if a thermostat fails.

Wouldn't your doctor be a better person to answer that question as they know you personally?

A lot of young people don't have ins, don't have money
and don't have a doc, tho. I didn't at his age.

I did a web search on natural ways of healing scars. This is what came up:

Vitamin E oil, coconut oil, aloe vera, and tea tree oil are all good topicals. I suggest making your own salve or purchasing one at a local natural foods store. Make sure to choose products are are organic with pure ingredients. Don't use chemicals or toxins on the skin. Also, taking supplements such as flax oil and a good multi vitamin will help healing the scar from the inside.

I have a scar on my neck from thyroid surgery. It's newish, about 2 inches long, and flat in some places, but it's hypertrophic (puffy or raised) on the ends. I've read a lot about fixing this scar as it's VERY visible on the front of my pale, white neck.

I'm not sure what country you live in, but there's a product called Scar Away here in the US for about $25-35 for an 8 week supply. They're washable, reusable silicone strips you wear over your scar for at least 12 hours a day. 1 strip lasts 1 week.

I found a generic brand at Target for only $15 and after 3.5 weeks one end is definitely flattening out. I think you should see if silicone strips are available near you or online. They definitely help reduce the appearance.
