Hello there, I am 1137 and I graciously welcome you to the philosophy of The Order of the Dawning Sun (ODS). Since 2013-14 these works have been updated and rewritten more times than we can count in order to explain ODS philosophy fully and comprehensibly to those not part of the Order’s founding. Here you will find a vast majority of the information we currently have written that is for sharing.
The Order of the Dawning Sun is a lot different than other occult “orders”. We are very pro-individualism and subjectivism, not to mention pro-questioning and doubting. What this system really is is the interpretation of the mystical concepts within by a small group of people. They have helped us in such a way that we want to share it with others. Our goal here is that individuals find inspiration, aid, and guidance when needed on their path to self-perfection and creating the best possible life for themselves. We also value practicing what one believes, rather than in simple armchair occultism. The information you read does not so much contain rituals or specific ideas, rather it is vaguer, assigning symbols and ideas to different aspects of western occultism in order to make a simpler, broader system for individuals to work with. Too many groups are concerned with their image, secret knowledge, confusing outsiders, and so on. Here, for the most part, what you see is what you get. Yes there is a lot of symbolism but it is mostly tied to the creators and can certainly be manipulated by others. Think of it as a blueprint for your self-evolution.
As far as what else we provide besides ideas, an email address will be set up that all individuals are free to contact for elaboration, addition, questions, and so forth at any time. It should also be noted that none of this is for profit of any kind, we simply want to help with the spiritual evolution of others. The only profit for us would be sharing the essays and correspondences with other occultists and the world simply to help continue this self-evolution throughout the species.
It also must be noticed that none of the founders, especially including myself (whom currently will be the only bridge between the ODS and the outside world), considered ourselves to be masters, gurus, enlightened, or anything of the sort. We are still on our journey just like you, and the only “superiority” we hold is in the understanding of the system we ourselves have created.
We hope you enjoy, learn from, and are inspired by the short works we are able to provide on wordpress at this time. Our future sharing and development will depend largely on reaction to this material, as there simply is not enough time in the day to put out information nobody will use.
