Diwali, the festival of lights, symbolizes the victory of the Avatar Rama , who symbolizes the Divine infinite consciousness, over Ravana who represents the demonic forces of unconsciousness, egotism and negativity.
In some parts of India, Diwali also marks the beginning of a new year.
As the saying goes, "Better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness."
May the lamp of self-awareness be similarly lit in all hearts dispelling the darkness of ignorance, unconsciousness and negativity, and lighting the path to peace, happiness and prosperity.
