Any thoughts on overcoming the idea that it's all for nothing?

You don't overcome it... you embrace it!
This may be what freedom is.

Open and embrace the nothing and everything and then you find your own balance within it all.
And I agree with Mr I on freedom and liberation, in this space.

An occultist might say that every moment of every day is of significance to someone, it's up to them to place a value on it.

I grab my surfboard and ride that wave all the way to the shore.
Not until then do I have a greater understanding of it, kinda like getting caught in a rip tide, one can fight the current, and wear them-self out, or swim perpendicular for a bit(like temporary mitigations), neither fighting nor finding shore. So in understanding the source of the nihilism, it naturally resolves itself.
