THE HYPNOSIS MYTH:
Hypnosis has been a topic central to our rapid moving modern day society.
Many people have seen hypnosis shows in either Las Vegas or around the world and enjoy the vast entertainment it brings.
Others have possibly bought into a wide misconception that hypnosis has to do with "swinging a watch clock in front of a unsuspecting blonde" OR "Making that tough-looking truck driver dude cluck like a chicken on stage".
However, all these situations revolve around falsehood. In short, many people have bought into platitudes! A platitude is a meaningless statement that is generally directed at quelling social unease.
Examples of platitudes are statements such as "Everybody has a right to an opinion", "It is what it is", and "Everything happens for a reason".
Often platitudes are what are called thought-terminating cliches. In other words, the idea that a human has more power than what was lead to believe by society is uncomfortable to a conditioned crowd. The mainstream or the 'norm' and the massively empowering idea from hypnosis forms a "collective cognitive dissonance"; two opposing thoughts occurring at once, and this idea is instinctively sabotaged. This would be much like revealing to an elephant raised in a zoo that it can break off its chains anytime it wants.
What's the TRUTH?
The truth is that hypnosis; as a psychological tool, is conducive to progress and empowerment in the individual. Hypnosis is a way of getting the subconscious mind to accept empowering possibilities and realities that already exist.
Another shocking reality is that...We are already hypnotized!
We have literally hypnotized ourselves into various realities according to what we think and believe.
And...even more shocking is that this would make hypnotherapy a form of "De-Hypnosis" from what we've already created.
