Out of the blue, a few months ago when it was cold outside, my husband saw a white Dove landing in my little pond in front of my house.
We watched her a few minutes and she was trying to find a hole where she could hide and she found one. Very unusual for a bird.
We decided to go outside and have a look. When my husband picked up the rock, where she was hiding, she was not moving. We brought her inside and kept her warm in a towel.
I put her in my dog's cage with water and food, and let her be. She didn't move the 1st night. The following day, she started to be curious and walk to discover her new surroundings, always in the cage. She started eating and making a big mess with her food, which was a very good sign!!!
I found a person who knows a lot about doves and pigeons, and we both made a halfway trip, about 50 minutes from our houses. She looked at her, and she saw that she was attacked by a prey bird, because her ribcage was open. She said that she was hiding under the rock to die. So, she rescued and healed her.
What amazes me is that if my husband hadn't look outside at the right moment we would NEVER have notice her!
One cold afternoon a white Dove knocked at our door...
