He is having a pace-maker fitted today and was forced to cancel a lecture tour in Australia which will be rescheduled.

I want everyone to send their best wishes into the ether for all the good work he has done so far and, hopefully, more to come. One of Mother Earth's best friends !

Poor old Sir David.

A remarkable man. Nobody in the modern era has done more to shape our view of the natural world and kindle a passion for wildlife than Sir David.
I fear we will not see his like again.

I did send him all my best wishes while I was walking on the hill today! He's a nice man, and an honourable chap as well as everything else.
So get well soon Sir David! Just watch out for those scanners at airports!! They play merry hell with pacemakers so I've heard :D

^^^^ Top globalist Sir David Attenborough, who last year described humans as a ‘plague on Earth’, has now gone on record in calling for nations of the world to stop sending food aid to starving nations in order to reduce the population of the world...

That may not be an appropriate post for a 'get well' thread....

Sir David is a naturalist. His concern is what will become of the Animal Kingdom if human population keeps growing unchecked. 7.1 billion people on the planet, 10 billion by 2050 or thereabouts...
The more 'we' grow in number the more land we take from the natural world for housing, amenities and living space and to provide food. Most deforestation, certainly in the Amazon, has been to produce beef and to grow animal feed for livestock.
More and more species are being pushed to the verge of extinction and they will become extinct if our numbers keep growing.

My reading of Sir David's statement is that we should not make an entire continent 'welfare dependent', but they should practice birth control to the extent that they are able to provide themselves for any children they may have or not have them.

I tend to go along with this thought. Over-population and over-consumption of resources lie behind much of the world's problems. Someone [ I forget who !] was of the opinion that a 30% reduction in human numbers was in order.

The govts refuse to go towards clean energy like solar.
Here in Australia the latest polls show majority are against Coal Seam Gas mining and yet the govt pushes the common people out of the way with police forces to bring in the mining drilling machines and chemicals. We can all live cleanly with a big population just need to get oil from hemp, solar power etc.
