No current favorites, but if one looks back in time ... Dr. Zhivago. I keep watching reruns of that movie, always hoping for a different ending.

I've watched Contact many times over the years, loved Cuckoo's Nest and Breakfast Club - I haven't been to see a new movie in at least a decade...even so, I couldn't begin to have 1 favorite.

The Fisher King - principally about redemption. It's original, quirky, surreal and an acknowledged masterpiece.

The Railway Children - gotta be the B&W version

Also - I don't know why but I do really like the Beatrix Potter movie. It doesn't hold the same appeal but I have watched it several times.

Oh, that was two movies. Bother.

“In These Light Fields Of Love---”

The impossible shadows---of mind
Reveal spirit, even among tangible
Shadows---of soul that reveal love!
O! The gifts of the sun continue to

Awaken the fields ---of my being! ---
Places ---that keep coming alive---
’Mong the various dreamscapes of
Our evolution ---where hope keeps
Singing among rays of inner worlds!

These ---facial moments are clear---
Reflections ---of yesterday's unseen
Life ways; ---they can birth body---
Homeward to open affairs of breaths

I don't have a favorite movie, but this one is probably in the top 5. It's the movie Knowing with Nicholas Cage in it. I think it's interesting how the movie presents a point of view of how things like the creation story and the notion of angels came to be.
Is it possible that earth was seeded by extraterrestrials?
Is it possible that angels are just energetic light beings who have evolved beyond the need for a physical form?

I don't know.....
It does remind me though, that how we view and rationalize things, is based on our very limited understanding of the acquired knowledge we have at any given time.

I try to always keep an open mind because what I "know" today can always change tomorrow.

Definitely the Lord of the Rings trilogy..! It's not even a contest!

Every scene is well done.. Peter Jackson and his team had an amazing eye for detail.. knowing when to show which perspective, coupled with the right music.
And of course many themes throughout the movies are simply of timeless value..

It has inspired an entire genre. Most movies are just temporary fun or quality. LotR is timeless quality.. Every new generation can find meaning in it..
Not to mention Tolkien's attention to worldbuilding, languages, species, etc. How many movies are based on such detailed work..? Few!

Dark Knight trilogy. I know it’s not the best film ever made but it has the most meaning to me which is why it’s my favourite film. Lot of good life lessons on how to change if your determined to.
