How amazing....how do they know that he doesn't absolutely understand what those words actually mean...I had a kitty once who said Mama just as clear as day and I truly believe he understood what he said and to whom he said it......

I saw this is on BBC text yesterday, but you beat me to it, KOA! We are only just now beginning to see the tip of the iceberg, as far as the intelligence and spirituality of animals (including wild ones) is concerned. Lawrence Anthony is hard at work on the astral!

That an elephant could speak human words is astonishing. That the elephant had the intellectual capacity to work out how he could formulate totally alien sounds and present them in an accurate and understandable form to someone of another species is mind-blowing.
