Good one, Buzz.

Psychoslice, your work is amazing. I don't have schizophrenia, but I have been in those places that you paint. Thank you for sharing and thank you even more for using your painting as an outlet.

You never cease to amaze me.

Thank you Sarian, yes its great to express yourself when you have a mental illness, its so much better than keeping it inside where it can do so much damage.

Thank you also Squatchit, it can be on your wall, if you want to pay postage, painting free, just for you.

this one reminds me of what my daughter is going through right now.

Hi Gracey, I'm sorry to hear that, all she can do is realize that the voices and all the rest of what is going on isn't part of her, the mind is amplifying what can be happening in a so called normal mind, like we all her ourselves thinking, and maybe talk to ourselves and her our-self talking back, but with mental illness such as schizophrenia we hear the voices and the rest amplified, it can feel like its all going on outside of us. Of course its much more than that, but that is how it helped me, by realizing its not really there, well not as we believe it to be. This is my favorite painting, but there not originally mine, I copied them from someones paintings I saw on Google Image, I think I got it just about right.

hello!!! :)
it isn't part of her??? can you explain that. i dont understand this truly because i dont have the disease. in my own logic of thinking about schizophrenia, i have been telling her that these voices are her minds way of self discovery and there is nothing wrong with this, everyone has their own way to self actualization. just yesterday, she says she now knows that they are her own internal dialogue, but does ask for reconfirmation of this when we talk. it is very easy for her to become delusional.

my daughter has painted some of her voices that she hears. i have them hanging around.

Yes as she said, they are her own internal dialogue, of course there are many other factors going on, chemical and such, its all going on in the brain, just like if we have problems with our heart, the brain being a very complicated organ caused all sorts of disruptions, and hence the feeling of madness that goes on in our heads, but just like heart disease its much better to control when we know what is happening. We just have to try and to take control, and of course the right medication helps a lot, it took many different psychotic drugs before they found the best for me.

Well I'm off now to find a nice place to have a quite coffee, yumy yum.:hug3:

Thanks Dragonfly, the only thing is that most of the paintings I do are copies of other paintings, I'll have to think of something original, can you think of anything ?.:hug3:

...most of the paintings I do are copies of other paintings, I'll have to think of something original...
You show great talent. Find what inspires you -- capture that on canvas. If you feel the need to "copy", to "recreate" what's already there; look to nature for inspiration.
Can you paint a waterfall that is "alive"?

Thanks for the advice H, a waterfall, all I seem to be good at is portraits but yes I will look towards nature and see what happens.

It occurs to me: you could pose mannequins and paint that. Or, of course,
you could take photos and "extrapolate" from that...that way you'd be 'copying' your own work!

Yes i do take photo's of whoever I'm painting a portrait for, i have done many portraits but i don't show many on my threads as they are personal to most. But again some good ideas, thank you for your kind thoughts.

Dear Lord! I expected him ^^ to speak to me. :icon_eek:

Just really: Well Done. Very good work. I do think you are right to now draw from your photos and own ideas - because, without doubt, you do have the talent.

Just Very Good Stuff!.

You have no need to copy the works of others....you capture the person inside when you do your own portraits of others. Lovely work.

I like your work, Psycho. Particularly the first two paintings.
Did you use acrylics, oils or watercolour for those?

I'm more into my unclear moments, a lot different to many of your points of clarity which you paint sir, but I still find them radically resonant. Long may you continue!
