There are many ways to astral project. Its not something that can be described in one post.

I suggest you look in to the books or online forums of Robert Bruce and his work Astral Dynamics. He explains everything in great detail with step by step instructions.

bluespirit... I suggest a good book on astral projection - what it is, information that answers your questions about how to handle whatever might come up, and gives a variety of methods to try so you can find what works for you.

The one I like best for this is "The Secret of the Soul" by William Buhlman.

WBGS - I suggest that you begin by gaining expertise in meditation. There are a whole raft of techniques such as Astral Projection, Lucid Dreaming, Crossing the Veil, etc which are only possible if you have a Quiet Mind.
