Dragonfly's artistic attempts.....

Hi everyone,
Well I thought I would throw into the mix as well, its a big step for me, because my art isn't in the same league as the talented people on here...but I thought I would share some of the things i have done.......please bear with me, as Im a rank amateur at trying to put pictures up.....and they were taken on my mobile telephone so they are a bit wonky and the colour isnt that great either.....

This pencil drawing is called 'Guardian Angel'.....

Well yes it kind of did, dont know how to get that writing off the bottom of the image, though.......

This one...I started out with a blue sky and I added some clouds with oil paint but it took way too long to dry, so i finished with acrylic, I kept adding stuff, I didnt know what i was going to end up with and this is what came .......

Thanks everyone for your feedback, I really appreciate it........it maybe a while before I put anymore up, because i haven't painted, or drawn anything in over 12 months now...but Im getting the urge to have another go at it........

Thanks smiler. Your work is beautiful, and you are very talented, and a very fine artist..You can paint extraordinarily well,... Im a rank amateur just feeling my way, hoping it will turn out ok when im finished.

My guardian Angel drawing isnt all my own, I took part of it from a beautiful painting one of my friends has, and added my feelings and extensions to it.......I don't know who the original artist is.... It was my 1st drawing back in 2009? I hadn't done any art work since i was in high school....and thats way too long ago to recall......haha!....

Hey DF ... I just paint ..and give mine away as I feel a pull to ..I have no problems being an amateur...I find a tranquil space just for me whilst painting ..and I never know what I am painting ...until I say FINISHED !!

LOL ...I do love your work ..its very beautiful ..and soothing to the soul ..

Instantly when I saw Your " Africa" ..I just wanted to race through to the others like an excited kid ...I took my time ..and escaped into a wonderland.

This is called 'tarot love'......cause it is the love card in a tarot deck.....(the original picture was much much better than this) so i painted it larger because I really loved the picture. I no longer have the tarot deck, so unfortunately I cannot name the original artist, but i give full credit to her for such a pretty deck......

This is 'pink flowers' my very first paint to canvas... before this one it was just sketch pad or canvas paper pad....its very sad.....but here it is......lol (actually it looks better here than it really is)

Art is sacred in all its forms as it expresses the inner Self in ways words cannot. I read the OP and cannot believe you consider yourself as having less talent than others here or anywhere else. It's not the outcome that matters but the sacred act of creation and the transference of feelings, and in this you excel my friend....your art is simply wonderful...as for notions like "more" or "less" talented (or the Ego-driven one, "gifts"...) we are all the same in the eyes of Spirit.

Thank you seahorse, your words are appreciated. I guess it is ego going on, when you compare yourself to others work, but its also very natural for me to be modest about what I do..... It took me a long while to work up the courage to put it on the site (its always been private)....it does come from the heart (most of it) and I never really know whats going to happen with the work until its complete.... thank you again for your comments ...Peace x

Thank you for your comment on my work, it is appreciated...

I started art in high school then I stopped when I left school........I started again in about 2009-10 I think......then had 2011 off, but Im thinking on starting it again...ive had a strong urge to do so....
Most of my family are artistic, it comes from my fathers side.....my younger sister is a fine portrait painter...my father and uncle fine landscape artists as well as an older sister, (father, uncle and older sister have passed now, unfortunately) and other family members are very creative in other ways......Peace x

Thanks slice.....I've put it up again at a different angle because the light captures the gold in the first one........it is actually an 'abstract' Angel......I don't know if you can see her face.....but the strangest thing happened.....i didnt actually paint a face but once i got into painting.......one appeared from the background......no intention at all to put it there, but there it is.....amazing it is to me.......

Thanks Deb, Im glad you like her.....she looks way better in real life, its hard to capture the colours properly because of the gold paint....and the purples in the background also show up through the white a fair bit in the flash.....could you see the face that appeared on her?.....((hugs))xx

Thank you both.......I think i will change her name to 'Nebula Angel' as the background is Nebula cloud.....it sounds better too i reckon.....but I am thinking of painting over her......she kind of looks a bit cheesy.(I was going for a transparent effect, but it hasn't worked out as well as i wanted, its the first time Ive attempted doing it...perhaps i should have done a practice canvas) ......lol....not at all like i had imagined in my mind.......
