An ancient idea but better than trawling surely?

Now if we could tweek these into modern traps , many species of fish could be easily caught , so you would get the ease of farming fish but with the benefit of free range fish, also if the processing of the fish was done nearby then processed waste such as heads and tails could be fed back to the fish , like a type of groundbait that would attract more fish.

Also worth looking into is the way the paddy field/terrace system was developed in the past to provide not only grain for food but Ducks, fish , and other aquatic life
