View Full Version : What does tension in the left side of my body mean?

I am a fairly spiritual person, and I enjoy meditating. In recent months, when I meditate and listen to my body, I feel great tension in the left side of my body. It is mostly in the left hemisphere of my brain, along the upper left ridge.
Recently, I might have taken a very large dose of cannabis. While that hypothetical even happened, one of the things I experienced was a great awareness of my body, and I felt immense tension in the left side of my body, pretty much all throughout it, my brain and left chest being the main parts, with a bit of my right brain (but nothing overwhelming there).
I am not sure what this means. Is it some sort of spiritual tension? Is it just my muscles? I don't know.

Let me start by saying that this is not uncommon with pot use. I once ended up in the ER because I was SURE that something was wrong with me. Nothing was. This is the paranoia (or one aspect of it anyway) that people talk about. Sometimes it can be easy to just freak out over nothing. I have learned over the years to tell myself that its just the weed and that I am OK.

I would add that that is probably the most useful aspect of using pot. It really does give you an intense awareness of your body, and also your energetic state if you are able to perceive that normally.

Having said that, I would also add that the left side of your body is associated with female, receiving, or Yin energy.

I was told - the left side is the releasing side ( fits since that is where our descending colon is, ha!)
And the right side is the receiving side.

Thusly, if your leftside 'hurts' we supposedly have a hard time releasing of 'something' and vice versa.

The left side
The feminine side. Represents receptivity, taking in, women, mother, love.
AFFIRMATION: My feminine energy is beautifully balanced.

And that would be the direct opposite of what someone told me - figures. :D

I long noticed that specifics within spirituality was whatever someone said it was...
I suspect that whoever "insists" the most,
and has the most serious look on their face,
