Automatic Drawing ?

Just curious how does one go about automatic drawing ? for those of you who draw with spirit, how did you start doing this ?

my friend is a auto drawer she just has images show up or just starts drawing and the image appears. Its really odd to see it happen.

thanks Occultist, maybe I should just sit down and see what happens ? maybe ask in advance, for some creative muse to guide my hand ?

That's the best way to start out... fix your intent of thought, have paper and pen/pencil/pastels ready and see what happens. You might just get scribbles, or a characature or writing... who knows?
