Samhain is my favourite festival also. The last two years we [a small group] have carried out ceremonies at a doorway to contact the ancestors to seek their wisdom. We plan the same for this year too.

I absolutely LOVE Samhain. I'm hoping to go to a party. I love dressing up. I love the feeling of that day.

Since I'm handfasting on Nov. 11th, we are incorporating many of the rites of Samhain with it.

We usually have a small feast, leaving food out for our ancestors. We also will do the spirit board as is our tradition since my children were small.

You?

You can burn incense and then get electric candles :)

Many blessings on your upcoming handfasting, medium Laura. Perfect time of year!
My family and friends celebrate by leaving candle lit gourds, goodies, and gifts for those who would like to visit. We write a family chant each year, drum, dance, and laugh. So much fun.

Well, unfortunately probably nothing, but back in the day....

It has always been a favorite holiday. Many years ago, my tf and I shared a very special and magickal night. (we met on Beltaine so go figure).

I also used to make my children great costumes.

This year, sigh, probably nothing like it used to be. I will probably go for a run in the woods on one of our trails and just be there with the magick of the night by myself.

If I could find anyone else in my area involved, I would probably do something like Blooms Bright. Kinda sucks being a teenager, or I could go to a gathering in the next town over... Still dressing as my "new year's resolution" so to speak though. :) I'm going to be a changling, to represent going from one life path to another, and currently being stuck in both. I'll probably end up in the woods like Tuliana since I've got nothing else to do.

skyclad, my mom would have a freaking heart attack! :P
