Anyone here into mysticism practice? I think that that mystical experience is the very essence of spirituality - a non mediated experience of the Divine. if you are not sure what i am talking about, then for an example of a modern mystical approach, journal and related thoughts you can check out

this is a trans-denominational, trans-religious blog using aspects of transpersonal psychology.

Hello wayfaring,

I used to be into Sufi mysticism and am still very curious about Sufiism.
I used to love it when we used to recite certain words and then go off into something like a trance state-but I didn't participate in this chanting properly as I was about 20 then and so wasn't as spiritual as I am now.
I am looking again for doing this chanting..

What about you?

I have had a number of spontaneous mystical experiences both within and outside of Christianity. I discovered psychosynthesis about 10 years ago and found it very useful. Using meditation, guided imagery and then free imagery techniques I had some sustained and interesting mystical experiences about five years ago. They are so vividly real and dynamic, so transcendent as to be difficyult to describe. Interestingly, a few years afterwards, I discovered Sufi mystic Ibn al-Arabi who I have found to be the most profound of thinkers in this area and also the thinker that most resonates with my own experiences. If you are interested in him look up books by William Chittick on Amazon. Arabi's original works are hard to digest, but Chittick does superb overviews in his books.
