I thought this would be a good place for us to share our poems.

For me, writing has been a great form of meditation.

Thanks for allowing me to share.

Terrible things happen from day to day
So many mean and rude things people say
Babies having babies and then beating them,
Fathers coming home to be "daddys"...that looks slim.
Innocent by-standers are getting shot,
Just because they happened to be in the wrong spots.
People are living on the street because there is no where else to go,
How they ended up out there...no one cares to ask, so no one knows.
So many teenagers are dropping out of school,
If you're late, you get suspended. Who understands that rule?
Women are being raped because men can't understand the word "NO" anymore
Maybe they can understand and enjoy treating us like *****s
But who is at fault, women or men?
As long as men have money, women will "let him in".
Who needs to work? Let welfare pay the bills.
Just sit around, smoke a blunt, and eat free meals.
Will the "real" gentleman that takes control please stand.
It seems that a man can't feel "real" without having a gun in his hand.
It is so many problems in the world today
It's hard to see the future with all these things in the way
The similar things were happening when the world first revolved
But things have gotten worse and there is still nothing solved.
For me, it's hard to believe in "World Peace"
Since I have been living, I haven't seen much cease.
There is no one man on this Earth that can make these problems stop,
Only when we, as a whole work together, maybe things will drop.
We are killing each other with the things we say and do
Then we have children and teach them the same things too.
I know my pain is building and my anger will soon start,
But nothing can be more painful than dying of a broken heart
Right now, I'm going to keep praying and listening for the voices in the wind that no one else hears,
The only problem is being quiet enough to listen...when fighting off the tears.

thankyou for what you wrote be-blessed. some one i knew died from luekemia. i didn't know her for long but she will always be an inspiration to me. the motherly love and selflessness she showed towards her family while she was suffering was powerful and uplifting.
