Anyone good with facts...? help!

Hi could anyone give me some information, about how and when spiritualism first came about... I have found one site that states :-

On March 31, 1848, in a small cottage in the hamlet of Hydesville, two young girls made a concrete connection to spirit.
The Fox family had heard raps in the cottage during the long, cold winter, but couldn’t find the cause of them. Other phenomena also occurred—furniture moving, the sound of footsteps walking down the hallway and down the cellar stairs, and the touch of a cold hand upon skin.


dose anyone know if this is true, am I along the right lines, anyone got any links to good information I would much appreciate it...:color:

From what I remember, the Fox sisters are generally accepted as starting the ball rolling... why not look in the mediumship forum too, as Mac may have left some detailed stickies around... :smile:
