The name says it all. This movie is kick a$$.
No deep and meaningfuls at all, just full on escapism cleverly encapsuled in the reality of today.
A couple of korny glitches, but overall a damn fine ride.

Hurtgirl is the stand out character for me.
A delightfully unique super hero character.
Hurtgirl roxorz !!!

I liked it when I first saw it. But on the 2nd watch, it didn't sit as well with me. Hurtgirl is the star of the movie of course, but I don't know what it was about the movie. I just didn't like it nearly as much. I am finding this with many movies though involving violence.

Same. I am not a fan of violence. Not in real life.
Nor when violence is glorified something to desire.
But classifying when violence is glorified is a personal opinion.

My sis does not like the over use of gore in 300.
I think it's one of the best things of that movie.
It's pure art. Beautiful.

I find the same with Kick a$$.
Specifically with Hurtgrrl's abilities.
All that she does, the focus is on visuals. The artistry of her movements and the results of her actions.

It all boils down to the person in how they interpret what is being viewed.

Went back and watched the scene where hurtgirl makes her first appearance in disguise.
Totally forgot how much fun that scene is because just as she unleashes herself upon the norty drug dealers,
a cool rendition of the Banana Splits theme song fires up.
This definately makes this scene a joy to watch.
And of course, her classic line she utters so well before kickin' a$$, intros the Banana Splits song to perfection.
