For seven days I have been extremely emotional with my wife's death plus extreme tiredness. Does tiredness go along with my emotions? Curios-One

Absolutely. First of all, I am sorry you're going through the pain of the physical loss of your wife. It's a hard thing to go through, and I hope you find your way to recovery graciously.

Physically, there are two state of being; the parasympathetic (relaxed) and sympathetic (stressed) states. The parasympathetic is what happens when eating, sleeping, unwinding, and takes minimal energy to upkeep. The sympathetic happens from anger, stress, fear, and burns energy very quickly. It's why a toddler will fall asleep after a tantrum or someone becomes exhausted after crying all day. It also is part of why people who have depression are so tired and sleep often. I'm guessing that as part of your mourning, you haven't slept as often as would be helpful. I wouldn't attribute your tiredness entirely to that, just part.

I would recommend looking at general techniques for fatigue, which may shed some light and give you something to work on while you try to adjust. While you look around, I suggest acquiring or - if you have one - keeping by your side a piece of Mahogany Obsidian. It is a very gentle stone that is supportive in hard times. Remember to breathe, and reach out to those around you, both spirits and living.

There's a link here you may find useful, which specifically states one of the most common responses to loss is fatigue: The Physical and Emotional Effects of Grief (http://www.funeralplan.com/griefsupport/griefsteps.html).

Remember to embrace the emotions if you are prone to turning them away. Express them as they come up, and let them be experienced. You are a beautiful human being and are worthy of happiness, even if it feels out of reach right now. Take care of yourself, and let the process take as long as it needs to.
