Werewolves and vampires

I've enjoyed the legends since I was a child, and they've become quite a trend in recent years, but this morning my mother was going on a bit about the reality of vampires and werewolves.

Of course there are illnesses that can imitate the myths, but is there perhaps a grain of truth somewhere? I really don't know much about it, and you can't always trust the internet... So! Personal opinions? Anyone have sources to share?

This is a massive subject. Vampires have their own origins and so do werewolves. I'm more interested in werewolves. Not all of it is related to illness. There is some truth in it.

My idea of the vampire comes from a ruler named Vlad Dracul. He used to kill his enemies by pulling them by the stake
I know it's fiction but dracula seems to be the base for a lot of ideas

I'm more interested in werewolves as well. You say it's a massive subject, so I'm guessing you know a bit about it? If you have any information to share please do! Or maybe just good sources I can investigate.

In other realms there is such things. I had a past life in a realm where vampires existed.

I once saw a werewolf or wolfman standing by my bed. He had the nicest, kindest brown eyes. I dont know if he's a guide of mine or guardian. I wish I'd tried to speak to him.
